Title: London Get-together
Description: Elly's coming to visit!
EllyMae58 - February 29, 2008 02:56 PM (GMT)
I'll be in London at the end of October - I'm so excited! :bananadance:
I've already been emailing Eleanor (Giz-angel) so we can meet-up while I am there. We're planning lunch at Fifteen one afternoon - anyone in the London area or nearish want to join us? I LURVE Jamie Oliver so I can't pass up an opportunity to visit his restaurant while I am there.
Obviously, my dates aren't confirmed yet (have to purchase plane tickets first) but once that's done more concrete plans will be made.
The reservation at Fifteen can be made up to 6 months in advance and dear Gizzy has agreed to take care of it, we just need to know how many would like to join us! My BF will be there too, though I'm sure he'll just think we are all crazy!! LOL
So, how's about it? Sunny? Camis? Anyone? :peek:

I'm not close to London at all, but would love to come and meet up. I will do my absolute best to be there!!

Gizzy said you are near Liverpool? The BF and I alread have one day earmarked for Liverpool - Beatles museum and tour and all that. We LURVE the Beatles too! :)
You could meet us there if it would be easier for you!

I'd be interested - never been to Fifteen and would love to meet up with bookobsessed people. Can we get away with piles of books on the table??

Marlene - March 1, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
Kel how long will you be staying in good old London?
I still want to go there for a mini holiday. It has been too long.
Last time I was there I visited punk clubs, now I would also like to see some touristic stuff.

Right now, we're looking at the dates of October 22nd - 31st. We have to be there for the 26th, because that is when the football game is. Depending on plane fares and hotel costs, we may add a day at the beginning or end, but we are not sure yet.
Would it be best to make the reservation on a weekday or a weekend?

I am cool with a weekday or the weekend it depends when is good for everyone else? If I make the reservation in the next few weeks I am sure either will be possible.
Marlene - March 1, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
Well If I go and visit London at that time I am not going to do the lunchie thingy.
So no need to reserve for me.

The 26th is the football game (see one of previous posts about trip dates), and as of right now I have NO idea what time it will be at. Better go for the 25th, Saturday.
giz-angel - March 8, 2008 07:37 AM (GMT)
Cool with me - I was being thick and forgetting the game - what is the game Kel - I am sure you told me but I have a pea brain :erm:
So Saturday 25th, ladies (and Mr Kel) who lunch?
Sunlightbub - March 8, 2008 08:34 AM (GMT)
I think I'll have to wait until Kel is up here after all - Sorry guys. Couple of things going on in RL which mean I should be saving my pennies.

It's not as expensive as I though M - I admit I was a bit scared as I am on a small budget too but when I checked... it wasn't so bad. I am going to treat it as a birthday present to myself!

http://www.harddaysnighthotel.com/content/Restaurant.aspxETA: Uhmm....I'm looking at the menu...and uh...what's bubble and squeak?
Sunlightbub - March 17, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
I just had bubble and squeak for tea!
It's mashed potato with bits of leftover veg in, usually cabbage ( I like to add onions too) and fried into sort of patties..
