Ok, here are some of my ideas:
Please pick one option from each of these, since I can't divide them up top, I thought I'd lay it out down here for you:


For book determining would you prefer:
A. ask for book nominations from the whole group each time, and then vote on which to read

B. have a different "host" each time who would choose 2-3 books they are interested in and the group would then vote between those. You would not have to host if you didn't want to, if you just wanted to be a reading member that is perfectly fine!


one book or two:
Do we want to settle on only one book each time, or do we want to have two final options for the group to choose between or both if they want? I don't want to overload us, but I don't want someone not to have an option either if they don't like a single book.


I also envision the discussion threads to be open ended (no real time frame to stop discussing, so if it takes you longer than the in general time frame, so what? ), and thought maybe I could make a little website or a pinned thread or something that indexes the books we have on deck, so that if you think of something later you can just click on it and go there and post.

One from column A and one from column B. I like the idea of rotating the host from month to month or quarter to quarter. But let the host be responsible for picking the book. And if the host wants to run a poll or ask the readers to vote on which book to discuss, that's fine too -- but leave it entirely up to the host.

Alrighty, it looks like people pretty much like the having a different host each time, and having them choose 1 book to discuss rather than having multiple. I like the idea of leaving the choice up to the host of whether they want to choose one themselves or run a poll or whatever (I'd be one of those to run a poll, I can never decide on just one! :lol: )

So, my next step is to find out who all would be interested in being a host, and then probably a random draw from among those people to pick someone and get us started! I'll post a hosting sign up thread here in a sec!
