I think that two of the four that went home tonight were wrong. I won't post who since West Coast folks have not seen it yet.

What about Paula's comeback!! I was not sure if it was serious or not at first.

I've been watching since the very beginning of course. And caught the debut of Paula's new song live during the Super Bowl.

I luv :wub: Jason Castro and Michael Johns. Robbie Carrico is pretty good too, and David Archuleta.

For the girls, my faves are Carly and Ramiele. I also like Syesha, Asia'h, and Alexandrea. I liked Amanda (the rocker nurse) throughout the auditions, but I'm afraid her voice may limit her to be a one-trick pony so I'm curious what else she can do going forward. I don't have her down as making it into the top 12 because of that.

Guys: Jason Castro, David Archuleta, and Danny Noriega (I think he'll do better.)

Girls: Alexandréa Lushington, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, and Asia'h Epperson

Overall: Alexandréa Lushington and Ramiele Malubay

But I also like: Brooke White and Amanda Overmyer.

Yep. I think that's it. It is hard to pick just a few...

Amanda Overmyer is from my area! So we're all rooting for her here, but I agree with the opinion that she may not be able to pull through to the end. Not sure she's got enough of a well-rounded sound to appeal to all genres.

Haven't seen any of it yet - are they on the Hollywood stages yet (that's when I usually start trying to watch!)

I haven't watched AI in years. I watched the first 3 seasons and then... it started getting too crazy for me.

BUT I do kinda like Paula's new song. It's not Grammy worthy or anything, but I love the fun-ness of it.

Camis, they are past Hollywood week and onto the top 24 (now top 20).

I was surprised that Joanne went home but was ok with the others. I actually like a lot of the girls... Asia'h, Ramiele, Syesha, Brooke, Carly. I do NOT like Amanda the rocker. I agree with Cherie that her voice is limiting. As for the guys, I like Michael Johns, David Archuleta, and the Jason Castro (the dread guy).

The guys:
1.Jason Castro, how can you not love him (but I bet his hair stinks :whistle: )
2. Robbie Carrico but he needs to lose the bandana
3. David Archuleta probably the best singer of the bunch

The Girls:
1.Asia'H Epperson- She's got it all, looks, voice and personality. Love her!
2. Ramiele Malubay - Wow, does she have some pipes!
3. Kady Malloy - isn't she the one who did the impressions? liked her personality and she can sing

I didn't necessarily agree with the ones sent home last night. I would've sent home Kristy Lee Cook instead of Amy Davis and Chikeze instead of Colton Berry. But that's just my opinion.

I like for the guys: David Cook (he's a Missouri boy) and Michael Johns!

For the girls: Carly Smithson and Amanda Overmeyer but Asia'h is in there too (shes a Missouri Girl)


I thought Paula new song was OMG are you kidding me! She tries to act like she's a 20 year old Laker girl again and she really just hasnt got it anymore!

But I do think this year is going to be a really good year on Idol or at least I hope so cuz last year was just SAD!

Yup, that's her. I took down names during the auditions round and I had earmarked her then. She also did a little skit on that during the last show, her Britney impersonation. :rolleyes:

I thought the Brittany impression was great! But other than that, I haven't seen any other personality from her. She always looks so grumpy! I don't really care for her.

So true (on the personality)... notice she wasn't in my list of fave girls either? :wink: :giggle:

I started disliking her a lot after the way she reacted to the judges. She acted like a spoiled little brat who could not believe that everyone did not love her and think she was the most wonderful thing in the world. (Did I just say all that out loud?) :lol:

Cherie -- I tend to agree about Amanda as well. I really like her because she does dare to be so different, but I don't think she has enough versatilty in her sound and voice to go to the top.

Turtle-- I like Danny as well. I like his personality and the fact that he is just himself. But I don't think that vocally he can compete with some of the other boys.

As for Jason, how can you not love him. What a cutiepie!! :wub:

I think it is going to be a good season, at least I hope so. Like nursie I thought last season sucked and I have watched them all, except for the first one.

I think it will be better this year as well. I have a couple people I have my eye on, but it's still early. Hopefully no one will be like Sanjiyah (I don't know if I spelled right!)

I caught the start of it last night, but hubby had the remote so I didn't see it all! (Plus it was a double episode anyway so on till about midnight!)

Will try and start watching it now they are on the live shows.

I have a couple faves of the guys, but I don't remember names. The shy guy with dreads and a guitar and the Aussie (Michael Johns maybe?). I was a little distracted when the girls sang. I generally like the nurse/motorcycle/duo-colored hair girl, but her song choice this week was not my favorite.

I think you can be forgiven for being confused about Paula's comeback since Randy Jackson was playing guitar in the video. That was a bit odd.

I just loved David Archuletta tonight!!!! What a great voice!

Agreed! Last week, he was in my 2nd tier of favorites, but this week, he managed to so totally impress me that he squeezed his way into my top guys, right between the gorgeous Michael Johns and Jason Castro. :wub: (And David Cook is only a step or two behind them.)

Now back to voting! :wink:

My vote to go this week--

Luke (not because he is horrible, he is not bad. He just has tough compeition)
Jason (Is that the Donny Osmond wannabe's name. I don' t remember) --Not to be confused with Jason Castro whom I loved, I don't care what the judges said.


David Cook was right up there as well.

So the girls did all right tonight. Nothing spectacular to say. I am worried about Amanda. She did not do as well as I would have liked. But I think that her uniqueness will keep her around a little longer. I don't think that Brooke was as good as the judges said she was. Carly did really well. I like her a lot. I am also like Alexandrea more and more each week!

I loved Carly, and Crazy On You by Heart is one of my all-time favorite songs as well. So I doubly liked her performance, esp considering she sang it really well.

I agree about Brooke. I think she deserves to be around a bit longer, and at least one of the other "blondies" will go. Though I think Amanda could be among them too.

I'm still hedging between these 4 as to which 2 will go home:
Kristy Lee, Alaina, Kady, Amanda

And will probably visit the forums and try to see what everyone else thought of their performances before finalizing my votes. I'm actually thinking Kady will be safe another week.

I think I'm leaning towards Kristy Lee and Amanda as the ones going home, although either of those could be replaced with Alaina instead. :shrug:

The girls weren't that great tonight. I liked Syesha the best and I didn't even see her performance, just the little repeat at the end when they flash the number. I started watching when the rocker chick with the crazy hair came on and I wasn't impressed with anyone I saw.

Does Ryan just say Alexandrea's name in a weird way or is really supposed to be pronounced "Alex Andrea?" Before they flashed it on the screen I thought she went by her first, middle and last name.

nope, he's not just saying it weirdly, she corrected him and made a really big deal about how to pronounce it.

Actually I remember from the auditions that it should be pronounced as
AlexanDREa. With the emphasis on the capitalized part. But yeah, it is like two names in one.

I was right about 3 of the 4. I guessed before the show & mis-predicted the first girl that went. Didn't see that one coming.

okay, that Alexandrea girl irritated the hell out of me with her attitude so I'm glad she's gone. And the weird guy with the blond streak in his hair is good riddance too. He just screamed musical theater and not in a good way. He would do well doing one of those shows at Six Flags or some other amusement park.

I guess now I don't have to wonder about her name anymore!

I was really disappointed to see Alexandrea go. She is a much better singer than several of the girls still there.

For the guys, I was sad to see Robbie go. I liked him, but then I have always been partial to long hair and bandanas. lol

I just watched the tail end of it really quick, 'cause I was watching Survivor and now it's time for Lost...I was glad to see the blonde go, she was too much like Leann Rimes. :yuck:

I liked Alexandrea..didn't care for either of the boys, so didn't really bother me to see them go.

Well, I was on board with Simon on the whole "poseur" thing with Robbie once I found out that his long hair was really a wig... that combined with his boy band past, I really think he was trying to force the rock image and I don't care for that kind of dishonesty and deception. Just be yourself man! Sheesh! So I kinda stopped liking him after the wig thing... :shedevil:

I do think Alexandrea was better than some of the ones that are still there. I had her pegged for the top 6, but you know America. I think a lot of them are voting for the blondies no matter their singing ability.

His hair is a wig? I always wondered why it looked so bad all the time! :lol:
