candy-is-dandy - April 2, 2008 09:32 AM (GMT)
Sorry Guys - I haven't had a chance to open my books yet.

I had to leave the house early yesterday and got home late. I intended to bring them into work this morning and open them here (as I'm on my own in the office today) but completely forgot to pick up the bag I'd put them in.

I hope to have some time this evening before I rush out to a community fund-raising meeting.

I have a book to send, but it might be another week or so before I manage to get it registered and to the post office. Sorry, working stupidly much right now

purple-pixie - April 30, 2008 10:12 AM (GMT)
I'm really sorry, Candy, I have a wishlist book here for you, but I'm still reading it! I bought this copy for myself a couple of years ago and really, really needed to read it before sending it to you, but events lately have meant that my reading is on a bit of a go-slow. It will be in the post to you tomorrow - and I hope you enjoy the book as much as I am.

Pumpkin & pixie's parcels have both arrived in the past few days. Thank you both - nice to get unexpected parcels.

Pumpkin sent me 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith with a recomendation for No 1 Ladies Detective fans.

Purple-pixie sent me A Requiem for a Wren by Nevil Shute which I've never read (and I do like Shute) plus a little bonus book, Change of Use by Candia Williams which I know nothing about but looks interesting.

Cool - that looks like everyone apart from our two MIA members, BJF and abrokenstarr.

I'm really sorry I was so very late Candy, life's thrown a few curve balls at me recently and I'm struggling to keep on top of things. As many of you already know my dad has terminal cancer, well this has just taken a real turn for the worse. Added to this my mum has recently been diagnosed with cancer, she's undergone surgery and will know soon whether the cancer has spread. Since her sister has also had the same type of cancer it raises the question of some kind of genetic link. I'm currently spending literally hours each day driving my parents to appointments and running errands for them to the extent that I can't keep up with my own life. So could you all bear with me for a short while, I will keep all my commitments, it's just that things may be a little late!
