Title: Camis' Birthday Giveaway

camis - February 1, 2008 04:09 PM (GMT)
It's February again, which means it's not only my birthday month but also my BC Anniversary month. So, as last year, I'm doing a giveaway!

Please look through my TBR's and my AVL's and let me know what (if anything  ) takes your fancy.

I'll do a few random drawings as and when I remember and send some books out!

It's not *the* BC anniversary, but *my* BC anniversary - I joined this site 18 Feb 2003. Glad to see some more people making lists

Marlene - February 3, 2008 11:00 AM (GMT)
Camis, about the laurie notaro book, do you have to read them in order?
I have at least one of them on my wish list.

Let me check....... The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club
Yes I only have this one on it. I thought better see if I like it before I am going to add the others.
That is the first book right?

is there a special order in which way to read them?

Marlene,

That is the first book. (And it's pretty funny!)

You don't necessarily have to read her books in order. They are basically made up of stories of things that have gone on her life, with her friends, family, husband, growing up, etc. She often will mention events that she may have written about in previous books, but other than that, there shouldn't be any problem reading them in any order. It's not like they are a fiction series of books where there is a particular timeline. HTH!

dancing-dog - February 5, 2008 06:17 PM (GMT)
Happy birthday & BC anniversary camis and thank you for a very generous offer!

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell[/i] <-- Y'know, I have this book on three different tbr raffle/giveaway lists. It's gotta get to me someday!

It is such a big book (1006 pages) that the thought of starting it is quite daunting!

But I will read it at some point so you never know!

Yes, don't be daunted, but don't rush, either! I actually edited my list today to remove that book. I found it at my local used bookstore, and had to grab it. The size of it, though! Wow! Don't worry, you don't have to ship it to me
