Title: Cleveland?
Description: end of April

elsi - January 28, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
I will be working in Cleveland 28 April - 1 May and would love to get together with the BCers and BOers in the area. I will be sure to bring books for swapping. So, does this seem possible? I know Pepper is in Cincinnati -- I'm thinking that's at least an hour away.

Cincinnati is on the other side of the state. Depending on where you are in Cleveland it's between 4 and 5 hours away.

Gothamgal is in Akron which is much closer to Cleveland so perhaps PM her to alert her to this thread and she can try to round up others in the area. Ri is in Columbus which, though not a whole lot closer, is a teeny bit closer to Cleveland than Cinci is. And Nou is in Dayton, which is probably about as far as Cinci, maybe an hour less if that.

I've always wondered why so many big cities in Ohio begin with a C. It gets a little confusing at times!

Of course, you might know all this anyway, but I wasn't sure if you knew who was in the area and who wasn't. I used this map of Ohio to remind me of the "lay of the land" as to which big cities were where.

Cleveland is Akron's neighbor to the north... I can see if I can get the Rubber City Book Posse (Bookcrossers in and around Akron, OH) together.

If it's cool, I'll bring it up at our next meeting (1st Tuesday in February) and we can figure out a date that's cool for everyone. TinkEsq works in Cleveland, so it might just be a convoy up to ya'll...

:-)

Yay! New people to meet!

If I am still in Columbus, I could probably be convinced to make it up there too! Cowgirl-up is in Springfield, halfway between Columbus and Dayton as well.

OOOhhh. Cool. This could be a lot of fun. Monday or Wednesday nights would be the easiest for me. I'm teaching a workshop on Tuesday - Thursday. We do our set-up on Monday afternoon, so Monday evening is an easy time to get away. My teammate (fellow instructor) and I commit to stay in the computer lab until the last student leaves and somehow Tuesday they tend to stay late. By Wednesday evening, the majority are tiring and it's again easy to schedule an evening meeting.

I might be able to do it, but it would depend on how things are at work and money and stuff, as I'd want to get a hotel, and I'd have to take PTO.

Will ask around, pulling for the monday or wednesday. I work until 5, but am about 25 minutes south (in traffic) of the airport, so all should be good.

I talked to the rest of the group, if monday works for you, it's cool for us?

I'll actually be all moved to Frankfort, Ohio then. It's close to Chillicothe (yet another C) and about 4ish hours from Cleveland.

Keep me posted and I'll see what I can do. I'm not sure if I could do it through the week. I'm already taking lots of time off for the wedding.

Elsi, will you still be here in Cleveland?
Please let me know, I'll try and get your info to TinkEsq if you're still interested in a meetup!

Still planning to be in Cleveland. Sorry -- didn't see this post until today. Will send a PM as well.
