You have to check this out. I just signed up. Not sure if it is for the US only. Celestial Seasonings Book Club

chambejd - January 25, 2008 04:25 PM (GMT)
I tried to sign up but you need two UPC codes to get the free starter kit and those are at home! I'll certainly do this tonight! Thanks for letting everyone know about it!

Very cool - Thanks for sharing. Guess I'll have to buy a 2nd box of tea at the store tonight. I don't keep my teas in their boxes, so only have 1 upc. Good excuse as any I can think of to buy one more yummy flavor. :giggle:

Couldn't resist signing up for this. Thanks for the info and link.

oi-reader - January 26, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the info...I'm in

I'm in too. We tried a book club like thing here once before. Shall we try again? We all read the same book within a time span and then discuss it? Too formal? How about a book club ring? This first book (The End of the Alphabet) looks good, but I don't know when I'll get a chance to read it. We could each take turns buying a book and ring in it around the group, or something like that, and promise to journal a really good review/discussion of it?

I have a zillion boxes of tea if anyone needs a UPC for the kit.

Megi53 - January 26, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
I just joined.

Your ideas sound good, ladyjanet. I'll be looking forward to seeing what comes of this book club idea ...

GateGypsy - January 28, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the terms and conditions say that it's restricted to the United States, but is very generous in extending their offer to the 50 states, not just the continental 48.

Still, the books look interesting enough, perhaps I'll order a few from my local bookstore.

I got my kit today. YAY! It has bookmarks, recipes and teas in it.

This is a list of the teas I received:
2 packages of Chamomiloe tea with 4 tea bags in each (will use for swapping since I'm allergic)
3 packages of Raspberry Gardens Green tea with 2 tea bags in each
3 packages of Madagascar Vanilla Red with 2 tea bags in each (I love this one)

Hope all of you get yours soon. :D

cheesygiraffe - February 25, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
Cool! :coolwink: Now I can't wait to get mine.

Bibliocrates - February 25, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)

I figured it's because you're supposed to pass them out to your book club members.

I got my kit today, too. Sadly, I have too many TBRs to even consider ordering and reading one of their recommended books anytime soon.

oi-reader - February 26, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
Mine came today also. Thanks for passing on the link

Bibliocrates - February 26, 2008 01:55 AM (GMT)
I joined too thanks to my darlings oi-reader and Cheesy!
Can't wait for the goodies! I just tried the Madagascar Red Vanilla Roobios, yummy!

Gothamgal - February 26, 2008 02:15 PM (GMT)
I got my goodies too! It's awesome.

I might be interested in a bookring if we do it, but I'd have to take a closer look at the books offered. I'm trying to clear off my TBRs... Yeah, it's a big project, but looks like I'm making some headway--I've read about 15 off of mount tbr lately. Now only 100+ to go, right!

I got mine yesterday too. Are your recipes all for chicken salad using chamomile tea?

The box was gorgeous. And the teas were very nice.

Oh wow! My CS teas are all at work, but I'll try signing up tomorrow. Sounds like fun!

redhot-brat - February 27, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
I got my kit yesterday. It has some very yummy smelly teas and I can't wait to try the Chicken recipe that came with it. Debating on buying the book too, but thinking I'm going to pass on this one (even though it sounds really good).

zosime - February 29, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
I signed up. :) The first two books look really good!
