As a newcomer, I'm confused by many of the swaps/activities in this category. What is "Indecisive"?

While you're at it, what is "RMTBRBB" and "Ballyswapper" and "Chapter 12" ? Maybe an explanatory topic that could be pinned is in order.

I got books from everyone but Butterfly-noir in my month.

These are all monthly exchange groups - each group has 12 members - each member is assigned one month of the year - all members send a book to each of the other members during that particular member's month - so whoever has January will receive books from the 11 other members during the month of January, etc. Some of the groups are international, some are European only, some are U.S. only. At the end of each group's year (which may not corrrespond with the calendar year) - they decide if they want to stay together and play another year and also if they need to replace any players. Hope that helps ya! :)

I would love to play again. The order isn't all that imporant to me, we can either keep it, switch it around, whatever.

I know I haven't been too on the ball with my sending out books... :blush: But I'm getting better, at least trying anyway.

I'm not going to be able to play again next time around.

I had two groups this year and it's been hard keeping up
add that to the fact that I'm trying to cut down on mailing costs and no more for me :(

If you decide to go for another year and if you need a replacement for someone, I would love to join in! I'm looking for a group this year since I wasn't all that active when the new groups were being formed last year. If you ship international and need more people, I'm game. :)

We are international and if enough people still want to continue with the group then you are in for sure. :wink:

I'd be interested as well if there's space :) International doesn't bother me, at least it won't after my (very small but still signficant) raise.

Hi guys ~ I'd be game to play again. I'm fine either way same months or shuffle.

I had to go double check real quick on whose I've received and whose I haven't yet.

I've received one from everybody but Three, Morsie, and Butterfly-Noir. I checked the thread and Three and Morsie's should be arriving soon. They have both mailed them in the last few days or so. I'll keep ya posted.

As for butterfly-Noir .... I wasn't really expecting to get one from her, as I'm sure most people weren't. :D

Just a thought on all the new players wanting to play and Indecisives only having room for two. Perhaps we could do two people per month and that would gave space for 14 more people to play. What does everybody else think???? :unsure:

I'd have some concerns about brat's suggestion of two people per month - I've never been 'tight' about sending books overseas - and as the only Aussie in the group, that's a given for me. I suspect it would start to get quite expensive for me to ship two books per month for the exchange, as well as any other ring/ray/RABCK/Swap commitments I've got, AND the Southern Cross exchange I'm participating in. Although we still have surface mail here in Oz, a book up to about 500g (about 1 pound for you non-metric types) costs me about $13.00 to send, and I'd hesitate to commit to $26.00 per month...despite the massive (irony) pay rise that came with my new job!

Hope that makes sense - been up too late watching the tennis again! If there's enough interest amongst other BOers, I'm sure a new group could be set up by and for them - I'm sure they'd get enough interest.

that I completely understand--international shipping is NUTS and it would be better to just begin a new group (Indecisives Deux?) then have two a month--so much more can go wrong as well if there's 24 people vs. 12 people in the same exchange especially if people are worried over int. shipping...in some cases people might have to delay until they can gather the funds together and that can become a tunnel of infinite debt..

just my thoughts though...

Yeah I think I will opt out too. The "job" has kept me busy this year and I don't want to forget anybody. Plus I have cut myself off from buying any more books, since my husband lost his job at the end of December. And I'm going to get the amazon kindle in the near future....... :whistle:


So in saying that I will be getting rid of all my excess books (as I read them) so I'm trying to send RABCK's to those here first before chosing from another name on the wishlist site.

I don't think anyone but DPA got one from butterfly-noir. That's why we took her off, back in June or July, because she wasn't making her commitments elsewhere and she never did answer me back.

Oh I don't know when I'll hear back from zzz. He is still sick. :(

I want to play again too :D! I prefer to shuffle or swap months with someone a least because April is not a good month for me as I have exams and moving into a new apartment at the same time, any other month is fine with me :D.
