I'd love to join. I'm guessing you want the original publication of the book to be in the timeframe and not just the printing of the actual book in hand? I'll check my books for some contributions and edit this post later tonight with them.

1. Someone Not Really Her Mother by Harriet Scott Chessman (tbr) (2005)
2. I Did (But I Wouldn't Now) by Cara Lockwood (tbr) (2006)
3. Hitched by Carol Higgins Clark (2006)

I'm going by the copyright date in my books.

bartonz - January 23, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
when do you propose starting this? Sounds like fun! every month/every other month? rules similar to other vbb's?

I'll check my shelves for a few contributions to help kick it off.

fantasy221 - January 23, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
I'll join, at least for a bit!

As a mod, I'll say, we defer to bunny lady on all the rules except the 6 month no mail/no play, which we're trying to institute pretty much sitewide to keep things under control. Doesn't have to be 6 months exactly but something in that reasonable time frame.

Will also look to see if I have anything to donate

BunnyLady - January 23, 2008 01:19 PM (GMT)
As this is my first VBB I'm organizing; I will say yes standard VBB rules would apply. Most of you are not rookies like me here.

I will apreciate any help or advise people can give me.

I have done a lot of book boxes thru bookcrossing both as an organizer and participant and am getting tired of having to ship a box off when I didn't find anything for myself or get a bunch of old books back that nobody else wants or has already read when there are so many others out there.

Tribefan - January 23, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
I will check out my books tonight or tomorrow and send you a list of donations!

I would think every other month and begin this one February 1st (April/June/August/October/December)

BunnyLady - January 23, 2008 02:25 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the donations chambejd!

CdnBlueRose - January 23, 2008 05:00 PM (GMT)
I'll join too! :)

BunnyLady - I added my 4 books to your top post list.

BunnyLady - January 23, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
Ooops you already told me that when I was asking about starting the box. Got you on now.

elsi - January 23, 2008 05:08 PM (GMT)
BunnyLady -- is this for any book (fiction, non-fiction, mystery, romance, SF) or do you want to have any restrictions such as "only general non-genre fiction"?

I'm going to join -- just need to select some books.

Yup. Any book no specific genre just has to be no older than 5 years.

elsi - January 23, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
Here are four books I'd offer to start things off.

Shades of Red by Doris Mortman (2005) (elsi)
Dance with Me by Luanne Rice (2004) (elsi)
Whirlpool by Elizabeth Lowell (2006) (elsi)
Body Double by Tess Gerritsen (2004) (elsi)

I noticed that with the "current" restriction, if you pick a book in an ongoing series, it's not likely to be the first in the series. Example is the Tess Gerritsen book which is #4.

BunnyLady - January 24, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
Thanks for donating Elsi.

terrafreaky - January 25, 2008 12:21 AM (GMT)

3. What Happens in Paris by Nancy Robards Thompson (2006) (terrafreaky)
4. Under My Spell by Deborah Wright (2004) (terrafreaky)

EllyMae58 - January 25, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
I don't care to join at this time, however, I'm sure to have some books to donate (I have a bunch of availables I haven't completely sorted out yet). I'll take a looksy and see what I can donate to start off your box with!

Ri - January 25, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)

And I think one last Thank you to Rosie for adding those donated books to our list of books for me.

EllyMae58 - January 25, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
I'm limiting myself to joining only two VBBs. I'm already in the Teen VBB and had *just* joined the Everybook VBB...and then someone directed me to this one. I have decided to join this one instead since it's almost the same as the Everybook VBB (just newer books) and it's US only, which I need right now. :)

So I'm in!! :bananadance:

I will start checking my books when I get home to pick some out to start the box with.

msjoanna - January 25, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
I'll join as well.

The only book I have to donate right now is:

The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman (2003) (msjoanna)

CdnBlueRose - January 25, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry, I'm going to have to find other books to donate - I forgot that I'd put those 4 up on BookMooch and 2 have been requested..... I'll go to the library sale next week and find some more.....

wss4 - January 25, 2008 11:07 PM (GMT)
I would like to join as well.

I will take a peek at my available books and see if I have anything to donate. I am pretty sure I can find something.

EllyMae58 - January 26, 2008 02:01 AM (GMT)

and thanks for updating Rose.

CdnBlueRose - January 28, 2008 08:08 PM (GMT)
Well, the sale shelf at the library only yielded one more book for this box - Bubbles A Broad - I've added it to the list. And I'll check the library again later in the week.....

elsi - January 28, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
BunnyLady? Looks like we've got enough books and participants to get going. (I'm getting very excited.)

And just in time. Thank you for getting us all organized.

You'll probably want to ask shaunesay to add this box to her list at http://home.comcast.net/~mbentz1/swapbox.html
