Title: Books sent to wrong places
Description: ##@%!! &##%% !!!

A tale of woe ---

I mixed up the labels on two books. Espresso Tales was supposed to go to DarkPunkAngel in Canada for the December round of the Everybook VBB. Instead, I sent it to a BookMoocher in Scotland. And, I sent the book destined for the BookMoocher to DPA.

OK -- so the lad in Scotland is going to keep Espresso Tales and I have sent her a replacement for the book she wanted to get via BookMooch. Now I need to touch base with DPA to let her know what I've done.

It's not an earth-shaking mistake, but I'm really aggrieved that I made such a mistake with International mailings! (And, of course, that's why I mixed them up -- I package and address the International books there in the Post Office because of the Customs forms.)

Crud!!

I've made the mistake myself but yeah...it does suck that it was an international mailing!

It happened to me. I don't excactly recall but I did mail it to the wrong person in the USA.

Worked itself out in the end :flowers:

When you go to the PO ask them for a handful of customs forms. That way you can fill them out at home. I always have mine ready when I get to the counter as I have a huge stack here at the house. :giggle:

Awww, sorry to hear that it happened with an international mailing. I just got several books in the mail last week, and one was intended for someone else. It's in my car now to drop by the post office later and send to the right person.

I do the same thing.. full out the addy first, put in the book, then fill out the customs form.. it works!

I was last in a bookray for Bee Season, but it was sent to someone in the UK instead. The person has apologised - it was just a mistake. They've asked the UK person to send it to me - I feel bad for them (but I really want to read this book!)

VERY good suggestion.

We have a bunch of US and Canadian customs forms here

So sorry Elsie.
Knock on wood, I haven't done that myself yet. Although I received a wrong book before and I mailed it back to the person.

I think the saying is: There but for the grace of God, go I

Just grab a stash of customs forms and take them home. Then slap one on your package when you're putting it together at home. The postal clerk will write in the weight when you go to mail it.

If DPA really wants Espresso Tales and doesn't want to take anything else from your shelf instead, try adding your request to the PIF thread to see if anyone else has a copy of that book they can send her.

Sunlightbub - January 20, 2008 08:26 AM (GMT)
I have a copy but I haven't read the first one yet. If you can't get it anywhere sooner, let me know and I'll add it to the soon to be tbr's - It'll be at least 6 weeks though

That's exactly what I do. I have a gob of them in my desk drawer.

I had that happen to me once, but not internationally, though. One person won a golden book I had on ebay and the other bought another golden book off me on amazon.

I asked them to return it to me (and I would get the correct one to them once I had both in my hands). I felt so bad I refunded their money back to them.
