As for which weekends wouldn't work? Are we looking at only January? Because February 2nd (Super Bowl weekend) wouldn't work for me.

I think we all accept the fact that unless we're visiting/live in an area where a meetup is being held, we won't be able to attend. We'll be sort-of jealous, live vicariously through pics and blogs, and be happy for the people who are able to get together.

However, posting something in a public forum and then stating that ONLY 6 specific people are welcome to come regardless of who else might want to come and be able to get to the area despite not living in it... that's rude. That's... rubbing things in people's faces and trying to make them jealous.

Maybe you were joking - and if so I apologize - but it didn't seem that way to me, and this comment just completely rubbed me the wrong way.

This has always been a very friendly place where we try to include as many people as possible, and saying that a publicly planned meetup is only going to include 6 specific people regardless of who else may be able to come is just completely going against that.

Okay so let me put it this way, if any of you can travel to Massachusetts, specifically the Olive Garden on Rte 495 in Marlborough with a few days notice, then you're welcome to join us.

The 6 of us started talking about this in PMs, but after Ixion couldn't find terra's right name to add her to the CC list, and then root's Inbox filled up, I figured we'd just bring our thread out here. Plus it'd make it easier to see who said what.

But yeah it wasn't meant to turn into a "who wants to come to Massachusetts" thing, which is why I said, albeit jokingly cuz you're welcome to come if you're in the area, that this thread was primarily for just the 6 of us.

I figured that Cheesy and Nou started joking about who wants to visit Massachusetts because of the joking around we did about Oklahoma in the other thread. But hey, not that Ohio's much better! :whip:

Well I have to say we didn't expect anyone to want to come here especially in the winter, but of course anyone is welcome. I tried to keep this low key with a few people because it's hard to coordinate with a lot of people. I really had wanted the Vegas meetup to happen this past Fall but it just fell apart, so I figured I'd try something small and local. Of course anyone is welcome though. For all of you who want to see Massachusetts keep in mind that Boston is putting in for the BC convention for 2010 so start saving now! I want everyone here if Boston wins the bid for 2010!

Oh and for the Mass meetup I am going to see what weekend day I can get off soon, so I will post tonight when I get home from work. I will try for a Saturday since there seems to be more than a couple Pats fans.

So far I've just attacked the "General" box. But there might me a paranormal author or two that I'm looking to let go of...
