I can do mornings if it's on the weekend!

I could have played in every single time voted for except this one.

Ah well. There will be other swaps.

Am just feeling... mopey about things at the moment. Don't mind me.

um, no Cherie, it would be 10 am Eastern, 7 am Pacific ;) I believe 8 am would be Mountain time (i.e. Colorado?) but don't quote me on that.

It should be 1 AM Friday night (Sat morning officially) where you are.

Good maps are at WorldTimeZone.com or to calculate and convert directly from one time zone to another, try the Time Zone Converter.

PUF stands for Paranormal and Urban Fantasy, which is the genre the books should be part of, and ALS stands for Almost Live Swap, which means that each person has only 10 minutes to take their turn. So for this swap, everyone needs to be present and refreshing to play immediately, rather than being able to take their turn sometime within 12 hours, if that's what the swap guidelines are.

These swaps are for those of us who like instant gratification!

terra57 - December 19, 2007 08:20 PM (GMT)
I'm in Shaunie!

Booksforever - December 21, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
shaunesay thank you for clarifying PUF and ALS.

Do you have a place where all the acronyms are listed. Now someone mentioned YBS and I don't know what that is either, LOL!!

YBS is Yankee Book Swap, which was basically the original type, and in this case is the swap we have every month that allows any genre of book.

Have a look here, it's probably a bit outdated because I haven't updated it in a long time, but it might help: http://home.comcast.net/~mbentz1/swapfaq.html

They've also posted a FAQ supplement at the top of the Swap's forum, not sure what all info you might find there.

Yeah, I'd left all the defining and stuff to your original FAQ. So that's really just the additional stuff that always seems to come up that's not already covered in your FAQ (which is why it was meant to supplement it, and maybe eventually be integrated...)

That's not to say that it's definitely valuable info for a newbie to swapping. :) And I try to keep the top few posts updated with the info added throughout (unless it's more of a controversial/discussion type thing) so a new user can easily get a lot of the info they need from the first few posts in the Supplemental FAQ thread.

shaunesay - December 21, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
one of these days I'll actually get myself in gear and update mine

shaunesay - December 26, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)
don't forget, it's this coming Friday morning! less than 2 days away now!

Amberkatze - December 26, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
Hmmmm....reveal seeking time....I have some nice things...which one to pick...

Amberkatze - December 27, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
So we don't need to send reveals out because we will all be online!???

Hmmmm....

Oh and you won't be starting early?? I have planned my day so I will be back home in front of the computer for 4pm. Of course I will try and be here earlier...say 3.30pm but you don't start early? :whip:

I am sooooo not starting early, because I'm not getting up any earlier! 9 am is already stretching it for me since I'm on vacation! LOL!

No, you do not need to send out your reveals, because you should be sitting at your chair F5-ing like mad in case it's your turn to play or reveal! ;)

terra57 - December 28, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
I sent out my reveal just in case I have to go potty. Better to be safe than sorry.

noumena12 - December 28, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
Yikes! I'll have to try to remember to get up in the morning. I haven't been setting my alarm. If I'm not here, would someone please call my cell and wake me up. Now to go find a book....

appaloosatb - December 28, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
I'm a maybe. I have a book set aside that I'm reading right now which would be perfect, but I don't know whether I'll be able to get up early enough.

Amberkatze - December 28, 2007 02:07 PM (GMT)
Lets go!!

twiggywig - December 31, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)

Actually it already happened Twiggy, it was Friday morning, I'm sorry! We might have another in February, since the regular PUF swap, happens in January. :)
