I voted for the first two dates just because I've been so looking forward to this swap (sat out the last one for budget reasons and regretted it!). To hell with the budget, I say! :bananadance: I even have a book read for it. :D

I miss having the NF swap too and am eager for one, but I picked a later day because I prefer time to read the book first instead of using a TBR.

I thought to remind you because of all discussion about pricey shipping etc. I was afraid that this (+ US only swap will be held in that time also) will decrease interest in Best Of Swap. I feel silly to write this because I'm the host but I was thinking that we should give preference to Best Of Swap, considering that it's only once per year :erm:
My initial idea about Best Of Swap was that it should be first swap in the year but I realize how that stupid might sound. Sorry.

Well I'm just going to start on whichever day has the most votes. Right now it's looking like the last weekend in January.

I don't think the NF swap will take away any people from the Best Of swap.

The latter is more difficult. I always have loads of pretty good NF books if I say so myself. :whistle:

You can offer nonfiction book in best of swap as well.

I don't understand zzz. Why would anyone think you are starting a sign up thread with bad intentions? We all know that a Best Of swap is coming up in January. If you want it to be the first swap of the year, maybe it should be moved to January 4th?

Haven't we been through this before? I remember, zzz, that your swap was on the same date as someone else's. You were worried about it, but you had a very high number of signups. I really don't understand what the problem is with this??? :shrug:

I have actually been looking daily for either a poll as to when the best time was to have the BEST OF YEAR Swap or just a thread with the date and sign-up for it. Of course I have been looking for weeks now. I am not excited about it much. :bananadance: :giggle:

Two swaps at the same time would not deter me in the least. I normally do the Non-Fiction swap. I just have to check and see if I have something to offer this time around. As far as the Best of Swap I have a few I have marked throughout the year as being potential reveals for this so that hard part will be deciding which book to go with.

I have a NF book picked already, and I have a couple of possibilities that I'm pondering for the Best of swap...I'll be in both...and both of the books will be books I've already read...

I do not participate in the Best Of swap because as soon as I read it it goes for a swap or a VBB and I am trying very hard not to buy books solely to swap with. This is a bad habit and if it continues will not decrease the books around here but only add to them :whistle:

I would probably offer An Ordinary Man if I would buy a third copy or The Puzzle Bark Tree

I have to check but I think my favorite 3 books were all newly published so pretty expensive.

I don't have room for books at home, and I can't increase the quantity of books arouns so I won't be able to sleep in here! :giggle:

I usually read them and release soon, so that I can try to save some space...

Oh, oh, uh I didn't want to raise this kind of emotion. I would gladely explain you my statement in private PM but since you brought it here no problem.
I just didn't want to post sign ups now during "debate" (and all kind of emotions) because of US only swap. Since I'm well known as someone who don't have hair on the tongue and whose language is frequently harsh (sometimes without intention and as a consequence that English is not my mother tongue) I wouldn't be surprised that certain BOers take that sign-up as a way to undermine their (US only) swap. And as I said I'm 100% sure that some would think that way.
So there you go. I don't have any negative thoughts anymore about that swap. (I don't think I have any emotion about it) I'm completely ignorant. As far as I'm concerned they could switch every single swap in national only (we see that initial idea is already growing and evolving anyway). Therefore I wanted to be clear with myself and exclude any possibility that someone will make wrong conclusion about this.

And date well Jan 10th is the first day I am available since we are celebrating Christmas Jan 7th and I'll visit my family from Jan 2nd - Jan 9th.
Of course if you want to pick some other date I'm fine :)

The swap is going to be the end of January so there's not going to be any overlap anyways.

I'll probably have guests from US these days. One of the first BookCrossers I've met online, therubycanary from Tennessee with her friend will visit me for a two weeks at the end of Jan :whee:
