I have tons of books heading my way but none of them arrives! Rings, rays, swaps, vbbs, secret santa exchanges... But it's been two months that nothing arrives in my mailbox! :blink:

I'm starting to get REALLY worried that they'll arrive all at once and I'll have no time to read everything. :wacko:

Not just books...but Christmas cards! I've only gotten one, and usually by now I have a wallfull. :(

At least I'm not alone...

And if the books coming don't reach me, the books I'm sending as Christmas gifts will probably not arrive on time. That's terribly sad! :cry:

I haven't got many either. I don't think people are sending out cards as much as they use to. :shrug:

I have gotten about 10 cards already and I mailed mine out a week ago!

I'm sure they are already struggling with the holiday volume - I'm not surprised that things have slowed down (says she who hasn't received anything expected for at least a week :shrug: )

Oh yeah the volume is horrendous. My dad was a mailman for 30 years. He would tell of us all about the packages, cards, and catalogs. :blink:

This is probably just affecting the US shipments, but you can bet that anything marked as Media Mail is definitely getting the loooooow priority treatment right now too. Something to consider....

Books are still coming to my box quite regularly (got one today), but I do see a lack of holiday cards - we've gotten 1 so far. Of course, I haven't sent out my own yet (I finally bought some yesterday), so I guess I shouldn't wonder why I haven't gotten any yet if I can't even manage to send out my own!

I thought I was being boycotted by the post office. A BCer sent me candy, twice, it never got here! :rant: Someone at customs is eating my candy, I'm sure! :angry2:
There was a package from Norway that never arrived (that was almost 3 months ago) , a bookring, and a box from South Africa, that I still hope will arrive... :rolleyes:
I have gotten so used to find stuff in my P.O. Box that I feel sad when there is nothing there :cry:

I haven't been getting anything lately either. It is really depressing not to find anything in my postbox!

Well, Stella - if its any consolation I haven't even mailed out the book I owe you yet. I am heading to the post office on Friday and will mail it then. I will also pick up another book of stamps. I got the first wave of Christmas cards mailed but ran out of stamps so the second wave will go out Friday as well.

I have gotten a decent amount of cards so far this year. Four I think. I don't think I ever get many more than 10 or 12 and two of the people I usually get cards from have already told me they aren't sending any this year.

I got yours yesterday, Holly! It was funny because I was looking all over for your address while I was writing out cards and then when I gave up and opened the mail there was a card from you with the return address I needed. Serendipity!

I'm so glad it's not just me, either. I was waiting on a handful of stuff that's just started trickling in now. I think I'm only missing one thing. And I keep going through the books SUPER fast and waiting for the next package (books or whatever I've ordered) to arrive.

Some of the delays in books arriving might also be because people haven't sent them yet. I know with the move and then the holiday crush coming right after I am way behind in my mailing.

Now, due to money constraints for Christmas, I'm only able to mail 2-3 a week.
I figure right after New Year's I can send the remainder out enmass, but I'm sure I'm not the only one having that probelm this time of year.

I did send out a bunch of cards though and so far (as far as I know) only one has been received, and they went out about a week ago. Perhaps there is some delay too. :shrug:

I will say though that packaged I've ordered are coming at record speed! Last year LLBean screwed themselves over by offering free shipping that used the Post Office, and they lost more new customers than they gained because of how long the packages took to arrive. This year the PO is stepping it up-my LLBean and amazon orders have flown here! I agree with Cherie that anything going media mail will be waiting a while!

:huh: umm ... I've sent you postcard ages ago (HGG) and only yours hasn't arrived. Maybe postman wants to read and love candies but what on earth is aiming to do with postcard? (I was happy to finally write card in Spanish)

After almost 2 weeks of nothing, I got a bonanza yesterday - 2 boxes & 4 cards!
That was encouraging at least!

On a weirder note, I sent a book media mail to CheriePie and a card regular mail at the same time - she's received the book but not the card!

No telling now ....

I am waiting on packages from my family for Christmas and none of them have arrived yet :cry: and something I ordered for my boyfriend for Christmas also hasn't arrived yet!!!

We only have 3 more days of post deliveries here before Xmas...so I am really hoping most of it arrives....

I have received four packages in the past three days. Three bookrings and a generous RABCK of three books! :D

Some of the packages had been travelling for over a month! Yes, the post office is really slow these days.

And what I feared the most is becoming real: my owed TBR pile is growing faster than I can reduce it. And there are still books to come from bookrings! :blink:

I got a couple of things in the post today but nothing I was expecting...I hope that pressie turns up before Xmas...otherwise my boyfriend will have to wait a while longer...

Okay everyone i'm going to die this is like the 5th day of no books in the mailbox. i have at least 30 in the mail on the way to me but they must be slow in coming!

Amazon sent me 'Kitty and the Silver Bullet' and they said in the email it would arrive by the 27th. It still didn't arrive :angry:
