Title: Search for best prices/where to buy
Description: post your book searching sites here

CheriePie - January 21, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
fetchbook.info allows you to search for the lowest price on a particular book across multiple sites, including eBay auctions. You can save a wishlist of books and have it notify you via email when your desired price range is found. ETA - Includes shipping cost too.

(I originally posted this over in the Misc. Books section, but I think it's more appropriate here.)

addall.com does this too, but I'm not sure how they compare since I've never used fetchbook. Addall includes the shipping price as well.

And caseyw just added Book Finder over in the Misc. Forum.

I think I'm going to change the title of this thread and name it Search for prices or something like that...

I buy books online from play.com...good prices and no postage

not sure if it's just a UK/Ireland site though

I love Bookfinder and Bookfetch. will check out addall.

Play.com I like but they are much more expensive than they were last year.

Booksprice.com allows you to price compare across all the major new and used online book sellers.

For folks in the UK, there is also Booksprice.co.uk.

BookkooB

It searches for the best price for a book - only new ones but it's cool cos it factors in the delivery costs. Good for when only a new book will do!

EllyMae58 - January 9, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it's good. If you're in the UK!

Sunlightbub - January 9, 2008 10:11 PM (GMT)
It's got a link for US and French sites on the page. I haven't gone on them but are they not for US sites?

Cool, thanks for pointing that out. When the window opened, I didn't expand it, and it says right at the top "BookkooB searches UK bookshops to allow you to buy books at the best prices!" so I didn't see any reason to search any further on the site.

Thanks Lucie.

Oh yeah it does you lot too :)

Of course now I am thinking mmmm I can buy that  so I am going to stop looking!

There's a pinned topic at the top of this forum called Search for Best Prices. You might wanna check that thread too. (And I'll eventually merge this one with that as well so it doesn't get lost. :)

Thanks my darling buns. :)

Yes i do have some great sites in my favorites.
Let me see which ones.....................

Fetch Book is the only one i see. I like it cause it is international plus it gives you new and second hand books.

That would be nice. If the price is nice for amazon.co.uk or play.com I could see myself using these sites but it would help if there was a Europe wide search.

WestofMars - January 26, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
I was contacted by the people at BooksPrice; they wanted me to blog about their site. So I did.

Looks useful, but I don't know if it's international or not. When I was there, I didn't think to look.
