Title: A giveaway with a difference!
camis - October 18, 2007 11:18 AM (GMT)
As many of you know, my husband lost his father earlier this year from heart problems. I am organising a fund raising event next month to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation and would like to get all my friends involved. Now I appreciate it is a long way for most of you to come, but I thought the lure of a book may capture your interest!
I am offering to buy the winner of my giveaway the book of their choice. Not a book from my shelf, but any book that they would really like (ok, within reason! No out-of-print rare editions that cost thousands!!)
To enter the draw, I am asking for a donation of £1 ($2) to the BHF. This can be done through my sponsorship page
Julie's fundraising pageI am holding my event on 6 November so will draw the winner after that date.
Thanks for looking!

My father died almost four years ago after having heart attack. It was his first and last. No one (including him) knew he's having ANY health problems.
I was coming home that day after having one horrible exam and my brother waited me on the bus station with the news and the house was full of people and ...
I'm with you and sorry I couldn't donate more than £2
Oh and you don't have to put me in the draw for book or if you do and I win donate that money to the Foundation.

I always go to the British Heart Foundation charity shop when I am home in the UK and even if I don't buy anything I always add a few pounds to the collection box. My Nan had heart problems most of her later life and my grandfather also has heart problems. This way I can donate and don't have to even fly home!!
Keep up the good work and I hope you manage to collect alot of money!

Thanks so much for doing this, camis.
I don't have a lot of $ right now, but I'll definitely give a little something.
My family has a history of heart disease. :(
I should take better care of myself.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this. Your generous donations raised £40 plus I raised another £85 yesterday so a total of £125 (around $250) will be going to the British Heart Foundation.
