In the early morning my lovely neighbor said the postman to knock on my door and ring the bell like a lunatic because "he is only sleeping" and I HATE when someone interrupts my sleep :angry2: Plus my morning appearances are quite "shocky" so I guess when I opened the door I had extra unfriendly expression!
Postman started to apologize himself because I had to sign the papers and pay the tax for custom check (that's probably why my neighbor didn't want to take the parcel as if I wouldn't pay her back :angry2:).
He [postman] was so lost that he didn't know how much he should give me back (it was 500-350=?). I said "You must be joking!" and then I took the money from his hands and shut the door.

There's really no rule about this. I'm paying it only occasionally and I think it depends on clerk :huh: Yeah on every 10-15 parcels comes one I pay (so far in exchanges I paid only once); once I even paid for small box of BallySwapper books (month book exchange). I think when there is something which is obviously not book or book-shaped they're sending on custom check (although according to mine receiving history that's also not totally correct). As I said there's no rule :shrug:
And no you didn't upset customs. It was only checking what's inside, so basically I paid their effort of opening and closing the parcel. Stupid I know but there's no way to predict that.
