Title: Passport to the World - Round 2

rootmartin - October 1, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
Welcome to Round 2 of the Passport to the World VBB!

The Rules:

(1) I will post a list of books and the order of the box participants on the first of every other month.

(2) Each person may take as many books out of the box as they want; however, you must put in the same number of books. This means that you may be responsible for shipping the number of books that you have put in. You control how many books you are willing to ship by only taking out/putting in that number of books.

(3) Play may continue perpetually. You can choose to skip your turn by not taking any books out of the box and passing the turn on to the next person.

(4) Books that qualify for this bookbox are fiction, biographies, memoirs and travelogues set in Africa, Asia, Latin America or the Middle East or based on the experiences of immigrants from those locations. In essence, this vbb is meant to open doors to new cultural experiences. :D

(5) When this vbb was based in bookcrossing, I did not allow play with TBRs. I will now allow play with TBRs but the books should be mailed out within two months of being chosen (i.e. if a book is chosen September 15th, the book should be mailed out by November 15th).

(6) Any books not taken after 2 rounds will be replaced by the person who put the book in. (Asterisks are used to indicate how many rounds a book has been in the bookbox.)

(7) You have 48 hours from the time the person before you posts their move in the thread to make your move. If you haven't made your move in that amount of time, you will be skipped once. If you don't show up within 48 hours when your turn comes up again, you will be moved to the end of the list. If you don't show up at all for a round, you will be removed from the list for the next round. However, if you want to rejoin at any time, you will be free to do so.

(7) New participants are welcome and can join at any time! If we are in the middle of a round, they will be added to the end of the list. If we are between rounds, they will be randomized into the list like everyone else.

(8) The list of participants will be randomized at the end of each round.

(9) Once you have chosen your books, please PM your address to the person whose books you have chosen.

(10) Once you've taken your turn, please PM the next person to let them know it's their turn. If you can't PM them for some reason, please say so when you post your move, so someone else can!

Sure!

I'll add you to the end.

Hi all!

I've been lazy about getting this bookbox moving this round.....things have been quite hectic at home (I found a PT job and have been sorting out the details of that!) So, good things but very busy.

Today, I'll go ahead and send PMs to everyone involved saying that we've started up again. And, I'm adding a couple of books that I've received since the last round to sweeten the box!

I'm looking forward to watching lots of great books swap hands!

ETA: I'm not going to be able to use the computer much tonight so will likely get the PMs out to folks in the next day or two instead.

Wow, we're moving very quickly through the list!

I'm leaving early tomorrow morning as a chaperone for a bunch of teenagers on a 3-day bus trip, so I will probably be unable to check in until Tuesday, 10/9 (although if I'm back early enough Monday evening, I'll try to stop in).

I would still like to play, so please bump me down until I get back.

Thanks.
