Title: "Reaper": TV, CW Ch. Series Premiere
Description: Tues, 9/25, 9pm/8c - Satan & Bounty Hunt
ladiibbug - September 24, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Anyone waiting for this series premiere?! They've been showing previews for months - about Satan & a young guy who turns out to be Hell's Bounty Hunter  :o

I've never heard of it. :erm:
I do know there's a new vampire show coming on CBS called Moonlight. :)

Daelith - September 24, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
I'm looking forward to Moonlight, but not going to hold my breath on it lasting very long. Seems that vampire or werewolf shows never make it more than 1 season...if that.
Not to sure about watching Reaper. Seen the commercials, but they haven't done much to make me want to watch.
I want Blood Ties to hurry up and come back.
ladiibbug - September 28, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
Did anyone watch this? I did and thought it was very funny! Lots of commercials  , but a great first ep.
Kyrissaean - September 28, 2007 10:34 AM (GMT)
We only have a partial CW channel available in our area -- I still haven't figured out if we'll get Reaper. If we do, it won't air at the normal time. Just as well though, 'cos I think that's on at the same time as Grey's Anatomy. :giggle:
I ran into an article about a guy who wrote a book (I think it was called Forever) about 5 years ago, from which that ABC show Moonlight is totally plagerized! As in, the vampire was created in the same way, lives in the same city, does the same job/duties, has the same hobbies, likes the exact same music (although they've changed the name of his favorite musician to a similar one of the same era), etc. :o The author of the book has nothing to do with the series and isn't getting a cent. He says he's not going to bother suing because the last time this sort of thing happened, the author spent 4 years in court to get $150,000 -- which didn't cover 4 years of legal fees.
When it's not so early I'll go see if I can find that info again....
Amberkatze - September 28, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
My boyfriend has instructions to download Moonlight (as well as all the other season premieres this week!!! He has lots to do poor thing!) so I am looking forward to trying it.
Let me know what Reaper is like please! I don't want to add something else to his list...I think he will blow soon

Just in seeing the previews, I thought hmmm...wasn't this done in the 90's and called Forever Knight? We shall see though. As I said, I don't have much hope for this show lasting more than one season if even that. Our local paper gives it 12 episodes tops before it's canceled.

Also, the people who put on Moonlight do not seem to know that "scenes from next week's episode" means.
I got a general show ad, not anything that gives me even the smallest clue as to what happens next week.

TVGuide.com says that a convicted killer who knows about Mick's immortality is released from prison after 25 years. There are thoughts that the killer is innocent, but Mick thinks he's guilty and will kill again. The killer targets Mick as his next victim.

I think Moonlight's only chance is that it's between Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs, which are both strong shows despite Friday night time slots.

First, it's on at the same time as CSI, and I've been watching CSI longer than Supernatural has been on the air.
Second, I have a lot of LJ friends who are in the Supernatural fandom... and it's totally turned me off of the show. I know I can watch and like it without being part of the fandom, but people in that fandom bicker and complain and get upset over the stupidest things (OMG someone posted the episode title for the 3rd episode this season! Keel them!!!)
No thanks.

Same here. I'm going to be really hard pressed as to which to watch Thursday now. I've been a CSI (the original only) fan since the start of that show, but I have to say I think the writers have lost their edge. Some of last seasons shows were lacking. And now Sarah (Jorja Fox) is leaving the show. :erm:
I'll probably try to tape one upstairs and pray the recorder works while I watch the other. I got all caught up on the reruns of Supernatural and I'm hooked on it again. Plus I just love Dean.

I would not survive here in Austria without downloads!! It is the only way I can keep up with TV! The TV channel here shows a new series eg. Grey's Anatomy. They show about 10 episodes then make a Summer break for 3 months!!!!!
They also end a series when they feel like it. I have often got hold of a new season sat down to watch it and have no idea what is going on! They just miss out episodes when they feel like it!
I would love to be stuck in the 20th century but in a country that takes TV seriously ;)

Seriously?! I thought I was the last person on Earth not to have a DVR or DVD ... I just don't watch that much TV! It was never a problem, I never gave it a 2nd thought ... till a couple years ago when The Sopranos reruns at the video store went to DVD only
I was all set to run out and buy a DVD player (kinda) when The Sopranos reruns went on the air at A&E. I still don't miss having a DVD player, I prefer to read.
Someday ... maybe. :giggle:
Daelith - October 1, 2007 07:54 PM (GMT)
At least I'm one up on you, ladiibbug. I do have a DVD player.
Amber I completely understand. I recall how TV was in my short stay in Spain. I was so happy to find a movie running English subtitles. *L* Even if it was a 40 something year old movie. I can only just imagine how hard it is trying to keep up with US tv series over in Europe. BBC American drives me bonkers with their series and ever changing schedules.

I'm not even cheap, I'm just poor. And I don't watch enough TV to justify digital cable and a DVR. And I need to upgrade my video card before I can effectively download stuff... video always gets way behind sound otherwise.

Well I'm cheap because there's 4 of us so you can't always think of yourself first and we are a one income family. I don't watch much tv either. And I live out in the country so I still have dial-up internet! Egads!

did anyone watch Pushing Daisies last night? I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought it was really cute. I like the fairytaleish imagery and narrator. I'm not sure what they'll be able to do to move the plot along, though, so I'll be curious. I was nervous not to watch my crazy models and watch this instead, but I'm glad I did!

I managed to watch about half of it before deciding to hit the sack. I enjoyed it and will watch the rest tonight.
As for Moonlight, I am in agreement with everyone else. It was okay, but nothing fabulous. I will watch it, but simply because of what Pepper said. It follows Ghost Whisperer.
I have not watched Reaper yet, but have the first two shows DVR'd.
Has anyone seen Journeyman? I am really enjoying that one. It is about a guy who jumps back in time.
As for the whole DVR issue. I absolutely could not live without mine. I have one in the den and one in the bedroom so that I can record two shows at the same time. That way I do not have the dilemma of missing Supernatural because of watching CSI. I DVR both. :giggle:

Okay, no thanks to y'all, I just programmed all these shows (Supernatural, Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, and Journeyman) into my DVR. :whip: Ghost Whisperer was the only one I'd heard of before but I never watched it.
And here I thought I was doing better because I only watched TV one night a week now (Bones/House on Tuesdays) plus football on Sundays. So hopefully I'll only like one of these and not feel like I have to be glued to the TV to watch all these things, DVR or no!

I dunno.... is it Supernatural??
Besides, I just realized that I forgot about Dexter on Sunday nights and Weeds and Californication on Mondays (all on Showtime) because I haven't managed to catch any of them live for the last several weeks so I usually end up watching them off the DVR whenever I can find the time.
So no way... no more! I refuse to become a whore to my television set!

Actually I just looked it up and wouldn't Pushing Daisies conflict with the Ghost Whispering for the Friday 8pm time-slot anyway? :erm:
