Wouldn't it be nice if this board had a chat room option? PM is ok and chit-chat back and forth on the board is ok, but sometimes I'd just like to ask a quesiton or say something without having the whole group see or waiting to see if my PM is seen.

There was one on the old bookrelay forum, but it wasn't really used that often. I did really like the one at BSL while doing live swaps though :)

I don't think it was there on the last version of the relay site. But it certainly used to be there and was hardly ever used..... I went in it once but I got scared :lol:

I guess if they're expensive we should not bother, but agree it would be nice to be able to drop in and chat from time to time.

I only actually went in there once when anyone else was there (Cosmic & Nursie I think) I used to just check every so often to check everyone else wasn't in there leaving me out! As I'd never been in a chatroom before I was also a bit worried that everyone else knew I was there and that they were hiding!!

Nah. I've thought things like people are blocking me or something on IM programs if they happen to sign off right after I sign on, or when I IM them, so... I can see myself doing that too. :rofl:

I don't know what type of capability we have to add stuff but if it's possible we could add something like a shoutbox. It's not so much a chat room but the responses pop up in the box in real time so its better than a pm that way. You can have a better approximation of a RL convo than PM or single threads.

This is one site I found that offers free shoutboxes http://www.shoutmix.com/main/ but like I said, I don't know if that's something we can add here. I think it would be cool if we could!

There are also some free chat rooms that you can get, but again, I don't know about the feasibility of adding it to this site. :shrug:

Yeah we're pretty limited for the time being while we're on someone else's server. And kaishowing hasn't even given us the graphics and stuff that he was discussing with Sand. He mentioned we may have to move from this software to another?? Though I didn't see them address this issue to any of the admins so I don't know if this is true or not. :shrug:

In any case, yeah things may and probably will, change down the road, but for the time being, we're sorta stuck with what we got, without some significant changes and moving to a different server, etc.
