I love Sandra Lee of Semi-Homemade Cooking. LOVE HER. Don't know why, I just do. I've been thinking about getting her dessert book, probably from the library first. I have another book that my mom got me (cause it came with a bartending book) that is too advanced for me. It has desserts in it but it also has duck with plum sauce and beef wellington recipes. I am not ready. Not in my wildest dreams am I even worthy of looking at the pictures in that book. My greatest culinary masterpiece is garlic bread that doesn't come out of a box, mk? Sooo, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for easy dessert cookbooks that I can go get from the library. I can work my way up from easy to SUPER desserteuse (I'm fairly certain that's not a real French word, but I pretend it is and that is what I aspire to be). They have to have pretty pictures because I need to see what I'm aiming for... and cause I like the pretty food pictures. :giggle:
It doesn't have to be light desserts, it can be fattening. I'll either make it for someone else to eat or do a dance workout to even it out.
I always thought the only desserts worth eating are the fattening kind. :P
You might look up some of Paula Deen's cook books (Just Desserts would be a good one) and see if your library has any of the Southern Living Annual Recipes cook books or any publications from Taste of Home. I also have a Simply Delicious Desserts with Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk cookbook that has some easy stuff listed in it.
Good luck!
Since I'm generally a terrible cook but continue to try, I've been a big fan of the Cake Mix Bible that my grandmother got off the bargain shelf at Barnes and Noble. All kinds of fun stuff in there and eeeeeeasy!

I love Rachael Ray myself. And Paula Deen is awesome. I seen her make a Krispy Kreme bread pudding once. I bet one bite of that had a 1,000 calories but oh it looked so good.
