Title: My Book reviews
Description: A little fame ;)
Amberkatze - September 13, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
I started doing reviews for 'Front Street Reviews' (saw their ad here!) a month or so ago. So far I have reviewed 2 books and have one waiting to review.
Well I didn't realise that I was going to get so much response! I thought I would write the reviews and send them off and hear nothing more. Well I was wrong!
My first review for a book by Susan Grant was done and I added the copy of the e-book to my Bookcrossing Bookshelf without reading the small print first and not knowing that she didn't like this! Ooooppppss!
So basically she got in touch with BC.com and they got in touch with me. I took the ebook off my shelf. BC gave me wings for being a good sport and Susan Grant posted on my Blog and E-mailed!! She was quite nice in the end!
Anyway with that happening after my first review I decided not to add the ebook of my next review to my BC Shelf. However the author liked my review of his book so much that he has even added it to his site! He has pm'd me a few times now through Myspace and even said he wished my review had arrived in time to add a quote in the book when it is published!!!
So I feel quite famous in a way right now ;)
So I wanted to share with some people who may understand how I am feeling right now...pretty happy ;)
Here are some links if anyone is interested in seeing some of my fame :giggle:

Why wouldn't she want it on your BC shelf? I always put my review books on BC and have never had a problem with it.

Apparently the E-book copy I had sent to me was not for distribution because it had not been fully edited blah blah blah.
I would love to actually get a BOOK to review and not always e-book versions but it seems no one wants to pay a little postage to send me anything :(

I can see why she wouldn't want the ebook to be on your shelf. With book piracy what it is these days and the fact that the spirit of BC is to pass along books, I can see how an author might be concerned that if someone had an ebook copy on their shelves, that person might share it, which is illegal.
