Title: Which Book Should I Pick
Description: (For my book club)

So, which one should I choose? I might get 2 months, so I might get 2 choices, but let's count on one month. I cannot decide, so help! The *'d ones are ones I've read and enjoyed. Travels is written by a local Austin author and we might could persuade him with cookies to visit the group, so that's a plus for that one... hmm... I just dunno!

Can you guess what I chose Candy? :giggle:

I voted for Travels with Lizbeth, which I read and enjoyed and I think it'd be interesting to meet the author.
I passed it to LML in the travel swap, and she actually found it slightly offensive.
You might want to look
at the journal to see if it would be a reasonable choice for your group.

Ohh... thanks, Jo... most would be okay, but we have a few that might be... I'll pass it on to the lady that knows the author to see what she thinks... LOL. Probably not though... maybe we'll make it an "over achiever" one - we have several per year that a few of us read outside of the formal group.

I went for Charlie ST Cloud, which I thought was a lovely book, which will generate a lot of conversation

Can't believe I am the only one to vote for A Girl Named Zippy so far. I loved that book. Chuckled out loud a time or two while reading it.

I have Alas, Babylon and The Devil in the White City on TBR right now; both sound really intriguing.

I absolutely adored Zippy too, Ramson! Such a great book.
Geisha - Oh, you must read Alas, Babylon. I read that in high school for a school book discussion and I read every couple of years. One of my all time favorite books. Timeless. Classic. Oh god, don't tell me if you read it and hate it... I couldn't bear it!

Oooh, now I want to read it next! Maybe I just might do that... :D

Hmmm.... I still don't know what to do... LOL... I might choose one for us to read and the other put in as a suggestion for our online version of the club we started last month.

I have never read any of those books, and don't have a desire to read any of those books, but I did cast a vote for The Devil in the White City, based on wonderful things said by my BC meetup group about that book.

Thanks everyone... we're doing Thousand for the in person and Devil for the online :) A year away, but at least I have a plan. LOL!

My bookclub just did A THousand Splendid Suns two months ago and had a great discussion. I'm sure yours would too.

I voted for The Devil in the White City. At first I didn't know if I liked it. Soon I was completely drawn in and couldn't put it down.
ETA: I guess I was slow in realizing the date on the original post. I'm sure you're glad to know I approve of your choice.
