Title: I forget who's in the NYC area...
skinglist - September 6, 2007 04:05 AM (GMT)
but this semester I'm both working and taking classes in Manhattan
Work: 7th b/w 52 and 53rd.
School: 42nd Street (Yay!), Astor PLace (Boo!Hiss!) Just hate schlepping downtown after work.
Classes are Weds and Thur but I think I'll be in Tues - Fri, if not Mon - Fri and I have a few Saturday classes. Dinner? Drinks?
morsecode - September 6, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
I might be able to meet up with you if I manage to go home sometime this fall (home is Ossining, NY, about 30 miles north of the city I think). My plans, however, are a bit of a mess.
msjoanna - September 6, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
I live in Manhattan, but work in Newark.
I'm in the city after 8pm on most weeknights and am around on weekends.
I'd love to meet for late dinner/drinks some time.
Also, boogal and I are planning to get together some time relatively soon because she has a book for me...
AlterEgoZoe - September 6, 2007 04:06 PM (GMT)
I'm an hour and a half away in PA.
chambejd - September 6, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
I'm going down to NYC on the 15th/16th...

LMAO I can see Ossining from my mom's house. Well SingSing anyway. We live on the Hudson in South Nyack and I used to live in Sleepy Hollow. I know the area well. Let me know if you're ever down this way.

That works if you're not too dead tired since my classes don't end until 9:00 on Weds (though we're trying to change that since it's incredibly annoying) and 8:30 on Thurs. Would love to catch up with you two and anyone else.

My vote would be for getting together on the afternoon of the 15th or late afternoon/evening of the 16th.

I like the late afternoon/evening of the 16th option. :)

Anyone want to step forward to make plans?
I have a conference call I have to make on Sunday from around 11 to 1, but can meet pretty much anywhere after that. I could do a late lunch, tea in the afternoon, or dinner somewhere...
I'm also free Saturday after services -- probably after about 1pm -- but Sunday would be better for me (and might allow me to retrieve my book from boogal ).
AlterEgoZoe - September 12, 2007 12:51 AM (GMT)
I'll be home on the 16th, unless I am dragged to a wedding that I'm not invited to (and therfore be sitting in the car) in North Rutherford NJ (I think..)
boogal - September 13, 2007 02:47 PM (GMT)
Since the 16th is fast approaching, I'm curious to see who is definitely interested in meeting up. Then we can start making plans. It looks like we would get together sometime after 1pm. Who's in?
chambejd - September 13, 2007 06:51 PM (GMT)
Sorry, but I think I'm going to have to pass. We are driving to New Haven from Boston on Saturday and then taking the train the rest of the way into NY, seeing Wicked that night and then heading back on Sunday. We are staying very near Time Square, but I'm not sure where that is in relation to everything else. Since I'm not sure when we are doing what and where everything is in relation to where we'll be, I'll probably bow out of meeting up, though I would like to know what plans you guys make in case we happen to be free or in that area at that time.
AlterEgoZoe - September 13, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
I probably won't make it into NYC this weekend, either, but I am definately going to be in the city on Monday and Tuesday-maybe do something then?
msjoanna - September 16, 2007 10:21 PM (GMT)
Boogal and I had a nice cup of tea at Tea and Sympathy this afternoon.
Monday and Tuesday would work for me, but only after 8pm as I'm at work in New Jersey until then.

Nice tea and nice conversation. :)
I could do Monday or Tuesday, as well, but I would have to bring my boyfriend along so he won't get lonely. :giggle:

Tuesday would probably be better. Either of you know where the Strand bookstore is? (I know exactly where it is-just thinking of a meetup type area)

The one on Fulton St. or Broadway?
AlterEgoZoe - September 17, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
ATM I'm tired, but I believe the one I go to is the original store on Broadway.

I'm really sorry that I wasn't able to meet up this weekend with you guys. I just looked on the map and your tea place seems to be far from where I was so I probably would have gotten lost getting there anyway!
I did have a nice time in NY though. I saw Wicked, which I LOVED and I even liked the variations from the book.

So, are we going to The Strand tonight?

AlterEgoZoe had of change of plans and can't make it.
