Title: Obsessapalozza
Description: Reschedule?

apolonia - September 3, 2007 05:47 AM (GMT)
Date? Place? Scrap it?
Let me know what you think. I am planning on going to London in April and possibly San Fran, depending on the date. We had originally chosen Ocotber for Obsessapalozza because it was 6 months away from the BC convention. I would like to meet up with other Obsessors sometime in the fall but it just doesn't seem to be coming togther. Maybe sticking to the Ohiop area is best, there seems to be a lot of you there plus no one is travelling across the whole country. Any thoughts, or suggestions?

Actually, I'm traveling across the country this weekend. :P I have to head out to California on the 8th and won't be back until the 20th. This trip is more for business than pleasure though... actually a little of both. Mike's company is actually paying for me to fly out though too since I'm starting my real estate research for our move out there, and his company is paying to relocate us so...

It just seems like things are going to be really crazy here from now until the end of the year. January's a good time to go to Vegas though if you're looking for a reschedule time. I think there are a lot of good sales right after the holidays, and the CES and Internext shows are going on there during that time too.

I'm curious to see what others, including yourself Ap, think though too....

October was impossible for me because it's jammed to the brim with weddings. But January or February might be do-able.

I could start 2 new polls, one for month, one for location, or at least which region of the country. Or is everyone satisfied with attending the April BC convention and/or the Summer 2008 SF convention/meetup?

April and October are the big times for business conventions, in my experience. It's nearly impossible for me to do anything in October or Feb-April, but don't plan around me. Chances are I couldn't come anyway, I have too many yearly trips that I HAVE to take, if I take one for pleasure, it would than likely be to visit my mom.

Where is the BC Convention this year again? I think I'm remembering it was either England or New Zealand, right? so not one I was planning on going to... though definitely the unconvention in San Fran in April...

The BC convention is in April, in London. The Unconvention is in SF sometime in the Summer, date hasn't been decided.

I'll probably never go to a BC Convention or Uncon, as it'll probably won't be driving distance for me. Ditto for Obsessapalooza unless it's near me (ie Less than 3 hours away).

Well that is what I am trying to figure out. I would like to have a meetup where the most people who want to have one could attend. We are just all over the place.

I'm in London right this second...and let me just say that the exchange rate SUCKS! We just spent about $600 on dinner....granted it was FABULOUS and not where most BCers would eat but geesh! It's twice what we would have spent in the US for the same meal.

I'm still planning on being here in April for BC Convention but I'll probably be eating a lot more Pub food...which I love! I'm actually disappointed that I haven't had any yet on this trip.

Giz, Did you get my email about the change in my return date? I didn't see a response from you.

I think Giz is still without computer. But Sunny said she would get a hold of Giz if anyone needs her.

I was looking forward to Vegas to be honest, but I'm a big planner so doing something in October seems short notice for me at this point... but then again, at least I don't have to worry about international travel then.

I'd love to go to England, but I'm still trying to buya condo (not that it's going too well), and I expect that finances will be a little too tight to be paying for international travel to a country not known for a good exchange rate (I've heard from friends they're second to Italy in costing a bundle). I'd love to see SF, but the prices would really matter on whether that would happen or not.

Just to say anyone going to the convention, get your passport NOW, it's taking upwards of 12 plus weeks to get a passport, that's over 3 months, so don't delay! :whip:

I take it the silence the last few days is a definite vote to reschedule?
