Title: I can't remember these book titles!
Description: anyone know where I can get help?

lexilewords - August 15, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
there's two books in particular that I wish to find again.

One I posted to the website 'Loganberry Books' Stump the Bookseller where its posted up for a small fee so that visitors as well as the bookseller can see if they can figure out what book you might mean (and if they can find a copy of the book).

QUOTE

T385: Teen Girl Goes to Rainforest to find father
A young girl, almost ready to graduate high school, goes to the rain forest to meet with her father.  She meets with his college aged assistant, Brad, who she is suspicious of at first.  The two are on the run from some people who are after her father.  The stay at in a small village where Brad at one point says that she is married to him and at another point he warns her of taking a bath nude in the river because of nasty fish that would surprise her.  At the end of the book she is screaming to Brad and he tells her that he'll see her in college (they both go to Columbia I believe).  It was written and put out somewhere in the mid-90's, but before 1997.

is what I posted there. No luck so far and its been a month and more now.

the other book is a little more vague unfortunately.

All I remember is its about a teen girl and her family owns some sort of fishing or crabbing vessel.  I definately remember part of a scene where she is out on the boat/vessel/trawler and she's with a young man and they are near a buoy hauling up cages from the bottom of the ocean (that's why I think its a crabbing vessel).  This one was definately made before 1996--I remember my mom getting out of the library and it was a worn paperback and I read it while I got over being ill before my parents seperated in 1997.

If anyone has any idea...please post them?

On the other hand I thought maybe this would be a good thread to have around anyhow. I know I can think of a ton of fragmented book titles or authors I wish to remember fully and figure with a group of readers this size ( and with our reading habits) we might be able to help each other out!

I am also looking for a book.

I thought Beulah land was it but its not.

I can't really remember a lot so I think it will be so ahrd.

I think it was about an English girl, who was in prison and was how do you say that send to the colonials.
I remember she had to live in a little house there at first, but later I think she becamse a mistress on a plantation

It is an older book

Could this be either Homecoming, or Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voight?

Both of these were books I read as a young adult and had family issues and boats and crabbing.

Its possible, I'll have to check out the books to see if it is or isn't (the cover doesn't look familiar but I believe these books have gone through quite a few reprints so...)

thanks for the suggestion! I would never had looked at these as possibilities...
