General Rules:
1. This box is open to international players so please be aware that if your book is selected you may have to ship it internationally.
2. Although the genre is romance there are certain types of books that are not allowed. These are categories, or series types of books. An example would be a
Harlequin Presents, or an American Superromance. More examples can be found
here and
here. If you are not sure if your book fits into one of these categories, ask before making your move.
3. Players who have not checked in at all during 2 or more rounds of play will be dropped from the box. They are welcome to join back as long as they replace any books that have gone stale during their absence.
4. Players who have books waiting to be mailed from more than 6 rounds ago will be asked not to take any new books from the box until they have mailed all books older than 6 rounds ago. They will still be responsible for replacing any books that have gone stale on their turn.
Turn Time Limit Rules:
1. Turn time is 2 full days, which is 48 hours from the time the previous player takes their turn, not the time of the update.
2. If two days is a problem for you (i.e. you can't get online during the weekends, or will be on a trip, etc.) please let me know so that I can put a note by your name and allow you extra time.
3. If the full 48 hours has passed with no word from the player, the next player will go, and the missing player will be moved down 1 space. We will do this 3 times, but without the 2 day time limit each time. A player skipped in this way will only have the time it takes for the next three people to take their turns to check in before being dropped to the bottom of the list (this is all if we have not heard from the player). It will look like this: 2 days, skip, skip, skip, bottom. If a player is skipped in this way and/or placed at the bottom, that spot will become their new permanent spot until the list is reshuffled.
4. The Box Organizer will be the time keeper and determine a skip or bottom placement.
5. New players will be accepted during play and added to the bottom of the list.
On Your Turn:
1. Select the number of books that you want to take out of the box and list them in your post.
2. Replace those with the same number of books (or more if you like) and link to the journal entries for your book(s).
Please PM the next person in line 3. If any of your books have "**" in front of them, you MUST replace them when your turn comes up.
4. If you decide to skip, you have the option to ask to be placed at the bottom of the list for another try. If you do this, that will become your new permanent spot until the list is reshuffled. (Reshuffling will happen after every 3 rounds.)
5. If you are willing and able to do the update, please do so. Before posting, verify that you've (1) listed your move in the Moves section, (2) added to the list of books the ones you're putting in, (3) removed from the list of books the ones you're taking out or replacing, and (4) listed the books you're taking out in the Books Out of Play section at the bottom, indicating they are going to you. (This is all fairly easy to do with cut and paste so long as you remember all the steps.)
