Title: The Dresden Files cancelled

Daelith - August 6, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
Looks like we will not be getting a second season of The Dresden Files.

Cancellation

I've really gotta stop watching any new shows on SciFi. They just don't support them. What amazes me is they keep the crappy stuff and ditch the good shows.

I have only watched the first few episodes but I have to say that it isn't that great. They could have done alot better and the books are more interesting.

I also watched the first few episodes but didn't really find them that great. I haven't read the books but would like to at some point. My boyfriend watched the show a few episodes longer than I did and then he gave up as well.

No Fair! :pout:  I LOVED that show. :(

I started watching the show before reading the books. Though I like the books better, I still liked the show. I'm just tired of SciFi building up series then pulling the rug out from under the fans. This one they canceled very quietly. I guess they would rather spend money on those horrible movies they put out all the time. I tried to watch Sands of Oblivion weekend before last. It was so hokey it was pathetic. Rating it as a B movie would be way too kind. It lost me after the first 20 minutes.

The first season (or I guess now I should say the only season) should be out on DVD today. I'll be picking it up later this afternoon.

ETA: Got my copy. My husband and I will be watching these together as we only got a few episodes in before we missed a couple and decided to wait for the DVD, so I have "new" episodes to see. :)

I only watched the first 4 in the series. Just didn't hold my attention as I'd have wanted it. Also sadly Blood Ties fell a little short of my expectations, but that's another story...

I actually liked Blood Ties! Compared to Dresden Files it was great!

I wonder if there will be a second series of Blood Ties?

Oh and I can't wait for 'True Blood' to start showing!!!

This is so upsetting. I actually liked the show. Had a mini-crush [] on Paul... um Blackstone? I'm not sure about his name. The show actually got me started on the books. (I just bought book 8 but I'm waiting to read it because I only I'll only have one more to read after that. At least until 10 comes out in April.) I did enjoy the books more than the show, but I watched almost every episode of the season. However, I am excited to hear that Paul's gonna be on Big Shots with Vaughn :)

I have the first episode of Blood Ties on my computer (it was free on iTunes, which is actually how I started watching The Dresden Files and Eureka, which is the only other thing I watch on the Sci-Fi channel). I just never got around watching it.

 Hi Simply Cee!

Oooo, let us know how you like Blood Ties! (There's a separate thread here in this folder for it.) I've read all the books in the series (excellent paranormals!) and thought the first season of Blood Ties *rocked*!

I looked online last month for info on when Season 2 kicks off but found nada. I'm assuming there's a Season 2.

Nice to see you here again!

Me too Cee!
I liked the books more also. But I watched every episode. I loved Bob too!
Big Shots? Is that a movie?

Daelith - August 11, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
Amber - as far as I know they are still on track for a second season of Blood Ties. At least according to the Bloodlines forum.

Cee - please watch your episode of Blood Ties. I think you will really enjoy it. I love the comebacks Vickie and Henry have with each other.

Big Shots is one of ABC's new fall shows. I think it's about 4 successful business guys that have trouble with the ladies? LOL I'm not sure.

Big Shots Fall Preview It'll be on after Grey's Anatomy.

I had no idea Blood Ties was based on books. I'll try and get to it within the next few days. :D
