Is there a way that the default answer to "do you want to stay logged in" could be switched from "yes" to "no"? I think that would make it a lot easier for those of us who check this site from public computers... and wouldn't really inconvenience us when we check from personal ones.

The way it's currently set, defaulting to yes, EVERY TIME we log in from a public computer, we have to remember to change the button to "no" or it keeps us logged in. That can be hard to remember to do. And if we click from an email to a PM and just log in on the screen that comes up there... the option doesn't even come up... it just assumes that we do want to stay logged in.

I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've gotten onto one of the computers in the lounge at work (the only place I can get online at work) and found myself already logged in because the last time I was on that computer I logged in checking a PM or I didn't remember to change the option and then I didn't remember to log out.

If the default option were no, we wouldn't have to worry about that when we log in from public computers... it would automatically log us off when we left the site. And when we log in from our personal computers, we'd have to remember to change the option ONCE, because after that it would keep us logged in. So it would be a matter of remembering one time rather than time and time and time and time again.

Maybe it's not possible or maybe everyone else feels differently, but I'm starting to dislike coming here at lunch because I know that I have probably a 50% chance of not logging out... and that makes me uncomfortable, so I thought I'd throw it out there and see. :shrug:

Both the computers I usually check in on are "mine" (one really is mine and the other is assigned to me, in my own office), but I agree that this sounds like a good idea.

I couldn't find anything in the Admin CP for it, but I know that other forums and CMS have an option to specify the amount of time a user can stay logged in, so I'm surprised there's not at least something like that. I'll have to google and see if there's something available to plug-in. Doubt it though if it wasn't already in admin... Sorry.

I had checked in the Admin CP also and didn't find it. I figured if anyone could Cherie could. :giggle:
