no I'm not! I'm actually very, very good. I was hunting that book for you for quite some time and when I found it there was no time for wasting. You just have to wait a little bit, nothing more

Well that's good. It's difficult to reach my hiding place 'cause I can't stand on my tip toes due to my foot, and I can't hide them lower as the cats really would eat them open, so my Happiness packages have been on top of the refrigerator... and I see them EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!! :yikes:

Well, I'm definitely not sending the book out until the end of the month so it shouldn't be there early enough to drive you too crazy :D
PepperVL - August 4, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
I'm going to bold this note in the top, but I'm not actually going to be able to open anything until September 5. :(
I'm leaving for Dragon*con on August 30, and I won't be back until late September 4. There's a slim possibility I may open them on the 4th, but really, I anticipate going to bed pretty much right away that day.

I'm sorry.

well yes there is Elinor but I just get many many variations and misspellings of it. It's a never ending pain! So most people actually call me El. Or Elle. Except here of course were even in RL people call me Giz!
zzz - August 8, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
First time when I wrote you spelling check marked as wrong your name... and that's how I found out that Elenor is not correct.
You know we (Serbs) have the simplest writing rule in the world (seriously) because we are writing exactly the way we are pronouncing and each voice has its sign. So that's why we say Giz's name Elenor (Tomson) just like we are writing Vanesa (Li).
Was this confusing?
PS
Just for records Serbian grammar on the other hand is way too difficult with its 7 cases and whatnot...
giz-angel - August 8, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
note to self - do not try to learn Serbian :giggle:

Good note
It's horribly difficult language thanks to its grammar. My aunt is German and lives here 30 years (she moved with 16) and still making grammar nonsenses. Actually I know bunch of foreigners who live here and can't speak without errors but worst thing is that my own compatriots are making errors.
On the other hand my sister in law is professor of Serbian language and literature and thinks that I'm such a language-puritan (which is actually not compliment at all :angry2:). I know this will sound stupid but my mother tongue is also one of my hobbies.
Sunlightbub - August 8, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
I really try to call Giz El in real life but somehow never manage!!!! I did introduce her to DH as El , but it sounded all wrong
Before I got married I was Lee like Pepper
And I am really pants at all languages..my littley is learning french ( she is 3 ) and she is already better than me
giz-angel - August 8, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Language puritan or language police Milan? :giggle: I know no other languages really, I can read some french and say nothing in Russian, ok in Greek and small dog & potato in German. SO useful  am thinking of trying more Russian. But it scares me a bit.

Well, we do learn languages easier as young children.
So logically, schools in the US don't start teaching other languages until high school.
(Well, some start earlier now, but usually it's "Let's learn in pre-school/kindergarden and then not mention it again until high school when you'll have forgotten everything you learned!)
PepperVL - August 24, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
I got one definite Ballyswappers book today, from Tracy Kenderdine in Toronto...
And one that might be a BallySwappers book... I don't know.
It was sent on July 20 from the UK in a white bag that says "MailBag" on it... no return address anywhere, so I have no idea who it's from....
PepperVL - August 25, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
Okay, I'm assuming that the first package is geishabird... anyone want to claim the second package? Sunny? BJF? You are the only two in the UK I haven't gotten a package from... :erm:
