morsecode - July 19, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Historical Fiction Virtual Book Box ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Round 7 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ TURN TIME LIMIT RULES1. Turn time is 2 full days, 48 hours from the time the update listing the player's turn is posted.
2. If two days is a problem for you (i.e. you can't get online during the weekends, or will be on a trip, etc.) please let me know so that I can put a note by your name and allow you extra time.
3. If the full 48 hours has passed with no word from the player, the next player will go, and the missing player will be moved down 1 space. We will do this 3 times, but without the 2 day time limit each time. A Player skipped in this way will only have the time it takes for the next three people to take their turns to check in before being dropped to the bottom of the list (this is all if we have not heard from the player). It will look like this: 2 days, skip, skip, skip, bottom. If a player is skipped in this way and/or placed at the bottom, that spot will become their new permanent spot until the list is reshuffled.
4. The Box Organizer will be the time keeper and determine a skip or bottom placement.
5. This bookbox will make its rounds EVERY OTHER MONTH and books may be left in for THREE rounds.
ON YOUR TURN:1. Select the number of books that you want to take out of the box and list them for us in your post.
2. Replace those with the same number of books and please provide links to the journal entries for your books if possible. (or more if you like, sometimes people do).
3. If you decide to skip, you have the option to ask to be placed at the bottom of the list for another try. If you do this, that will become your new permanent spot until the list is reshuffled. (reshuffling will happen after every 3rd round)

 Cowgirl, it's your turn!
TURN TIME LIMIT RULES1.
4. New players will be accepted during play - they will be added to the bottom of the list.

I think some historical romance is okay. There are some historical romances that just use the history as a backdrop for the story and the story could have easily been set in contemporary times....I think those stories probably aren't okay but the historical romances that are a little more meaty, and rich in terms of the historical detail, I would think would be okay

 Fantasy, it's your turn!
TURN TIME LIMIT RULES1.
4. New players will be accepted during play - they will be added to the bottom of the list.

Pepper just posted about a new requirement for the Science Fiction/Fantasy VBB. That might be something to consider for this VBB, too. What do you think?

I think it might be difficult with this box just because it's already run every other month to give people time to read the stuff they've offered. So keeping to the four month rule might be a bit of a burden on some.

I think it's something we can consider.
Maybe starting the next round, people who haven't sent off their books from Rounds 1-3 can't play? (That's still giving people tons and tons of time to send out their books)
ETA: the link to the out-of-play thread is broken (again! I don't know why this keeps happening!). I'll fix it next time I update. In the meantime:
