I am! :bananadance:
And umm... as I just wrote in the other thread... we could always play a round of Go to the Head of the Line with whomever's present.
ramson - June 14, 2007 10:46 PM (GMT)
Sorry if I held it up. I just logged on for the day to and saw we started early and that I am first.
I will ask to see what Antheras has for me.
wss4 - June 14, 2007 10:49 PM (GMT)
Antheras has not been here since yesterday afternoon so she probably does not know that we have started early either. Someone may want to PM her.
shaunesay - June 14, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Aw man, I'm last! oh well, leave some good books for me! I still need to put together my reveal, but I have to run out and do some errands first, so don't pick me to reveal yet, or you'll be waiting for awhile!
cheesygiraffe - June 14, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
I've got DOC at the very end right now. I know she's having connection problems. So she may not be playing.
I'll email Anth and ask for her reveal. :)
ramson - June 15, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
I have sent my reveal info to cheesy, cats, and musie.
Antheras - June 15, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
Oops, sorry to hold things up. Not sure why I thought this started tomorrow.
My Reveal:
Speak Now: Married to Mystery by Margaret Dumas
Book Description:
Charley Van Leeuwen, confirmed commitment-phobic theater director, shocks her friends when she returns from London with a husband in tow. But Charley still wonders about his past-and before she can settle her post-wedding jitters, they find a dead woman in the bathroom of their hotel suite. After another tragedy strikes, Charley fears she herself might soon exit stage left.

musie - June 15, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
ok so my internet provider told me to do some stuff to speed my provider up..guess what it slowed itself down. i don't know how long this internet connection will last..so just in case i don't check in..it's just the internet being all moody.
Cheesy and Ramson are my co-proxies whether they like it or not.
I'll check in before I go to bed..hopefully..well..maybe...
noumena12 - June 15, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
I've sent my reveal to CheesyLady, Cowgirl, Cats, Cherie, and Shaunie.
noumena12 - June 15, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
I'm getting eaten up by bugs and it's too dark to read...I probably won't be back until morning although you can try texting me
musie - June 15, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
checking in and out for the night..i'll probably check back around 7:30 CST, which is 6 hours behind UK and I don't know from Australia. It's an hour behind New York/East Coast, An Hour ahead of Mountain Time and Two Hours for you West Coast People..so does that about cover it?
Sorry...don't know the time difference b/w here and Costa Rica either.
ryanreader - June 15, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
I'm also heading to bed for the night but will check back in when I get back from the gym. Night- Night!

I know Costa Rica is in Central America so I'm assuming that it's in the Mountain Time Zone.
I believe Australia is about 14 hours ahead of us. It depends what part of that country though.

Cats has my reveal and I will go ahead an PM it to AEZ and Candy too, just in case.
See you tomorrow :)

Ya can't really look at it that way though cuz of Daylight Savings Time. Sure, Central time zone is usually -6 hours of GMT, but during DST, it's only -5.
If it's only just after 9 where you're at, it's the equivalent of Mountain time here in the US. :D
See Costa Rica
here and the US
here.

I would like to ask cats to reveal.
I'll give her an hour or so to do it herself if she's still awake. If not I've got her reveal so I can show it to me when I get to work.
rootmartin - June 15, 2007 09:51 AM (GMT)
Good morning, candy! :waves:
Figured I'd :flasher: cats for you so here's the reveal:
catsalive's reveal:
The Fugitive King by Sarah ShaberFrom Publishers Weekly
In his third winning cozy (
Simon Says; Snipe Hunt), history professor Simon Shaw's journey to "the homeplace" in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains is interrupted by an escaped convict, Roy Freedman, who at gunpoint asks his help in finding evidence to support Freedman's claim of innocence for a murder committed decades before. Once home, the obliging prof taps into the local collective memory, gossiping with his kin and acquaintances at the sheriff's department. What he finds is unsettling. Why was so little evidence recorded at the time of the murder? What motive would drive Freedman to plead guilty to a crime he didn't commit and serve 40 years in prison? Learning the answers to these questions may prove more dangerous than Simon bargained for. Shaber excels at depicting local color, from Appalachian geology and native flora, to evocative glimpses of postwar rural America. With his migraines, tenure worries and wounded feelings after a spat with his girlfriend, the 30-something Simon comes across as likable and all too human-we understand why his relations are glad to see him. Minor characters also have their appealing foibles, especially Simon's uncle and aunt, Mel and Rae, who are separated because Mel looks forward to retirement and Rae would "die if she stopped working." A chatty style is perfectly suited to an investigation that depends so much on conversation and characters' reminiscences.
