Do the L.A. Banks Vampire Huntress Legend series need to be read in order? I ended up with the fourth book, The Bitten, from a library sale and now I need to know if I need to find the first three before reading this one. And are they worth my time?

I've read the first 3, and especially with 1 and 2, she got a weensy bit better with #3, you need to read them in order.

Book 2 picks up right where #1 left off, so since I hadn't read them one right after the other, I'm glad I still had #1 on hand to refer back to... because she doesn't even give you a refresher on who's who character-wise.

Now, saying that, I remember that book 3 wasn't quite that bad... you'd still have wanted to read the others first, but she didn't leave you hanging with names as much and stuff.

And I can't tell you for sure how good or badly #4 fits that mold because I didn't read that one yet.

*phew* now that that part's out of the way... the first book wasn't that great. If I hadn't heard that they get better I may not have continued the series. So it's kind of sad to say it, but you have to read #1 even though it's not that great, but don't let it turn you off from the rest of the series...

Did I confuse ya yet? Or did all that make some kind of weird sense?? :P

In case you wanna read my reviews of books 1-3, they're up at my blog, and they should all be on this page searched by Vampire Huntress.

I recall reading somewhere, and it may have been in your blog, that the first one wasn't all that hot so I've been reluctant to even try them. To many other books I'd rather be reading. I just happened up on #4 for 50 cents so I figured what the heck. I could use it for the PVBB, a trade or RABCK. Thanks for your input, Cherie!
