Which should I listen to next? Hmmm.....

UPDATE: Okay, I'm on my way to my book club meeting (30 minute drive each way) so I'm downloading Holy Fools right now... so now we get to see what gets the most votes after that... Hmmm...

Holy Fools! I loved it on audio. :D

I voted for Emerald Ring, I'm sure no one is surprised by that ;)

I voted for Holy Fools as I also loved the audio of that one. I'm listening to Pink Carnation at the momnet though so Emerald Ring would be my second choice!

Garlic & Sapphires because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ruth Reichl. I saw her do a reading when this first came out and she is absolutely hilarious in person.

I really thought Angela's Ashes was a very good book so I would go with Tis by Frank McCourt. This is the sequel to that and I would think if it's anything like the first it would be really good.

I'm a HUGE Frank McCourt fan. When Teacher Man came out, I made Tom drive me in the pouring rain to get that book ;) I've read them all. I listened to Angela's Ashes. The man is amazing. His reading of his own work is something I think everyone should have to listen to. He captures his own life so well... I was completely mesmerized by his voice. This is definitely one I want to get to this year.

Out of the 3, Tis was my "least" favorite book, but really... it's still better than most of the dreck out there.

Kiss Me Like a Stranger was fantastic.

It's read by Gene Wilder and I loved the audio so much.

I voted for this one too... hey.. didn't I get that one from you Nim? :giggle: *Runs to check BC* .. oh. I sent you that one.

I really loved it!

Reading the Lauren Willig novel was pretty good, so I would say listen to that one...

Garlic and Sapphires is an awesome book, as is Ruth Reichl's Comfort Me With Apples ... I voted for G&S.

However ... Joanne Harris is a huge favorite of mine ... I've read all of her books ... so Holy Fools is an excellent choice too!

Ditto here!! She was at a local bookstore several months ago and she was simply great in person. She regaled a few episodes that are in this book and based on that, I can tell it's a great book already. It's on my TBR pile too. I didn't know that it's in audio book though. Is it read by her?

LOL... this thread is pretty old. I'm about half way done with Holy Fools (which was winning before! LOL!) and I'll start Garlic and Sapphires after I'm done - probably another 2-3 months. I'm a slow listener...
