Title: bloggs
Description: I think its doable...

needmorezoloft - May 15, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
I have recently found a new forum community I've been digging in. (the long hair community) anyway, they do blogs a bit different, and I think its doable here.

I think some people were missing them because they used them to keep track of what to send to who and that sort of deal.

Basicly how its worked is they put up a new area. Like say for example, under Discussions there is now:
Chit-Chat & Non-Book Related Topics
Book Talk

And to work it, add a new one named Bloggs or whatever..
Then each person starts a new thread with their blog, and puts the title as
"needmorezoloft's blog" or whatever. I think they might have it to where no one else posts on your thread or maybe its just understood.

To see what I'm talking about... This is the site... you can click on Public Hair Journals to see everyone's journal, or here to see mine. (I'm readingfae over there.)

I thought it might work over here too if the want/need is getting big. I know we have a listing of our reading blogs and stuff, just wasn't sure if others were still wanting this feature or not, and since I found a half ass work around...

I've been hanging around in the Erotic Swap too much. I thought it said something other than Public hair. :giggle:

w00t w00t! :P

I was already a member of that community Lei. Since most of the gals over in the Natural Skincare and Mineral Makeup forums I frequent (or used to) are members there as well.

But since getting sucked in over here :P to spend more time, which happened after the Toronto convention last year, I've kind of replaced that obsession with this one. Until the usps rate increases too, I could once claim I was saving money too, being more addicted to books than buying all kinds of natural ingredients and stuff. (Which I still do, but spending all my free times in those forums was of course, way too enabling.)

So anyway.... I like totally got off topic there for a bit...

I'm not sure I really care for how they did it. It's really just like having your own forum dedicated to you. I know we have a thread that links to everyone's blog, but if we really wanted to make it so that each had it's own heading, it could be configured here more like how the Amazon link is (see from the main index page of BObs). Where we'd have a sub-form called blogs, and then another subforum in there for each member, which is just a redirect to their blog....

I don't really see the benefit of having your blog hosted on invisionfree since (a) we're severely limited in upload space unless we pay a premium to upgrade it, and (b) if we did that, we may as well just upgrade the software to the full version and move it over to our own hosted server.

I hope I'm making sense here as to why I think this isn't that feasible. But let me know what you like about The Long Hair Community's way of doing things so much and I'll see if there's a compromise... :D

It seems like a lot of work and not very convenient.

And since there are lots of free blog sites... I don't see any particular advantage of having it here.

Of course, that's one feature I never used when we had the old forums, so...

That's cool.. to be honest, it doesn't matter much to me at all. I have like 7 blogs on blogger.com  I think the only thing I used mine for was the list of who I owe books to, but that kinda got to be a pain because I never updated it... so now I just keep a notebook of it, and it works better for me.

I just didn't know if others were dying to have one or not.

And I'm hanging out over there to learn how to take care of my hair. Like not, flipping it over my head to shake the crap out of it with a towel, and to not pile my hair on the top of my head to wash it. And IF my paydays were actually on the same freakin day <_< I would have already ran to the store to grab some coconut oil to put in my hair along with some vits.

After just two days of washing and drying the "correct" way, and doing CWC (condition wash condition) my hair looks a lot better. It actually had some shine to it last night
