I have no PBS credits. Do you need it immediately? I've got a book to mail out, and I'll be using the instant credit thing, so I should have one in a few days if you still need it then.

I've had 6 wishlist books come up in the last 3 days! :o They tend to come in spurts for me.

So though I've only got 2 credits left from the 10 I bought back on April 6th, I was figuring I'd wait and see if someone else came along in this thread--you know one of the gals who always has 10 or more in their account--who are willing to share. Because at this rate, I expect my last 2 will be gone in a matter of days, if not by end of day today.

That said, if you don't hear anything from anyone else out here by tomorrow, I'll gladly gift you a credit, assuming I still have it! :lol:

Speaking of PBS credits (a commodity of which I am forever running short :rolleyes: ), did everyone get the announcement that the price of credits will be going up the day the mail rates change?

PBS credits are increasing from $2.75 to $3.45 each on May 14!

So for anyone who buys credits, you might want to grab the credit card and stockpile some now! I am trying to work out how many I could buy if I eat nothing but dried beans and rice for the next couple months.... :P

I just thought I'd mention it, 'cos last time this happened I didn't see it coming and have been kicking myself ever since for not knowing or taking out a home loan or something to buy a bunch ahead of time. :duh:

I've got a ring going for that, and it's at the last person. They've had it for a while, but I bet they could be pursuaded to send it to you next instead of me. :wink:

And yeah, I headed back here to see that Kyri already posted about it, but right after I wrote here, I went back to gmail and read the latest PBS newsletter and saw the price increase. :o (Though it's actually $3.45 instead of $3.40 they're raising it to is what the newsletter says.)

So yeah, I may just buy a dozen or so right now anyway since I was thinking of buying a trade-size BookMate anyway. I bought a mass market size one for myself when I picked one up for Anth as my May Day partner, and now that I'm reading a trade size, I am soooo missing the hands-free feature of it. But dayam... Mike's gonna tell me I'm spending $ like it's water over here! :lol: But you know... needs and all... these are needs and NOT simply wants! :wink:

Yeah, May 14th, I just looked it up.

I was actually going to start a thread about the credit price increase, but couldn't figure out which forum would be the proper one so I ended up not doing it. But maybe we should stick an thread about it somewhere prominent just to make sure everyone has some advance warning....

The Enabling Forum would be my first thoughts... since thats the one about places to trade, where to buy, etc. And then maybe a post in here too pointing to the place in Enabling where it's mentioned... that's probably what I'd choose.


But yeah, I do the same thing sometimes. At times, I think we have too many forums and it makes it too hard to know where to post something, or where to go looking for info about it. But then at other times, like when I wanted to find the info about Charlaine Harris's books to TV series the other day, I didn't have to dig through posts in book talk or chit chat since we have all that kind of stuff aggregated in the book & movie news forum. :shrug: So sometimes I almost feel it's a hinderance, and then something like that'll happen to make me think it's not... :lol:
