Title: Quick? about travel...

I remember there being a post about this but rather than drive myself crazy reading it...

You can bring whatever you want (liquids, tweezers) on an airplane as long as it's in your checked baggage, right?

I'm leaving next week, I usually only carry-on a tote bag (with purse stuff and books) and laptop bag.

Thanks for the link, Ann. I always carry hand sanitizer and hand lotion with me, and I hated to not have it with me on the plane. I'll just put those two items in a Ziploc to carry on.

My only problem is that I won't be able to carry any contact solution on board with me; the smallest bottle I could find was 4 ounces!

I'm bringing my 4 oz thing of contact lens solution in my carry on. I remember reading that certain liquids were excluded from the 3 oz limitation, such as stuff that was medically necessary, etc. You just specify them separately to a TSA agent and you don't put them in the clear zip lock bag.

Another solution for the contact lens solution is just to fill your contact case with solution and leave it at that. There's no way that's more than 3 oz, and really what more are you going to need while on the plane?

They make little individual packs of rewetting solution... cannot remember the brand, but I used to use them.

I'm thinking about packing my laptop in my luggage now though so I have less to deal with, plus I don't need it on the plane... I don't see why I couldn't do that...
