My parcel arrived :D and it looks fabulous with beautiful painting of Auguste Herbin (every day man learns something new :)). Tried to avoid looking at the Customs Declaration and have put it away from my eyesight.

I'm a May Day-er too! No word or package yet though.

I sent my may day package weeks ago and have never heard from the person that it has been received. Everything else I mailed that day has been received. I hope all is ok. I have not heard from my sender at all and nothing has arrived yet. Hope this works out because I still have not received my valentines package from my c upid and I dont want ot be disallusioned. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Damn straight, you should be feeling disillusioned about now, but if the person who was your Valentine's partner never even communicated that something has been sent, you should let the organizer know. And ummm... we should kinda keep that person from participating in future exchanges too if that's the case.

However, I'll assume the best and that it was just lost in the mail and your packages are having a string of bad luck. I just received an empty envelope from someone in Canada that was supposed to have contained a wishlist book of mine, plus the PO has lost 2 of my packages sent back in January so I'm getting pretty pissed with them myself! :shedevil: Their service seems to be getting much worse and unreliable, yet they're raising prices??!!

Who organised the Valentine Exchange? Can you ask them to get in touch with your sender to find out what happened and to try and trace the parcel if it has got lost en route.

hmm... it was a while back.. but.. ok, so this is really dang sad, but I can't remember if I did that one or not. :shrug: I really don't remember. Maybe I did the one the year before.... I'm really sorry, I can't remember. I'll try and search for old cashes of the site... and I know Cherie might be able to find it... if it does turn out it was me who did it.. I'll start looking to see if I can find the list... can't think of where the in world it would be. I cleaned out the harddrive of this comp. (at work) since I'm switching jobs and getting a new one soon... but maybe its at home. :shrug: I'll start looking and see what I can find!

No problem. I was bound to run out of luck with an exchange sooner or later. This is the first time of all the ones I've done not to have heard anything or got anything. Well there's still hope anyway since it isn't even May 1st yet. :wink:

I'm new to this exchange business (and happy to say that my package is here already safe and sound and that my partner has received my gift already), but I think it'd be good if one of the moderators (or somebody) could be quietly told by the different organizers when somebody doesn't hold up their end.

It could be useful to have one person designated to keep track... especially so one single person doesn't "cheat" several bookcrossers. I know sometimes life gets in the way! So if this person should also be told if a present finally does arrive, even if it's late, and that might sort of clear the slate again.

But I'm happy to defer to people who've played here for longer than me. :rolleyes:

I went thru my email, and I hit one in my bookcrossing saved folder that reminded me what exchange I did do. I did the one book only exchange.

But I did put in a request with Cherie to have her see if she can find out who orginized it.

I'm thinking Morsie or Breeze may have organized the V-day one. :shrug:

Yes they organized the swap and morsie did contact my cupid originally and they said that there had been some problem with mailing but that it was coming but would be late. Morse then let me know who it was because the swap was completed and about 1 month ago I emailed that person asking if it was ok to start buying books off my wishlist again as I was assuming it was on its way to me. Granted it is coming from over seas but is has been over two months. Anyway this person never responded to me and I have seen them playing in other swaps and may day exchange so needless to say Im a little hurt as I made sure my package was on time to my valentine partner. I dont usually complain and think that Im pretty understanding and easy going so that is why I hadnt complained previously but it is starting to bug me. I take my responsibility to mail quite promptly and keep in touch with my partners of swaps etc... seriously. Anyway hugs to all I feel better now :wacko:

I haven't heard from or received anything from my partner either! I know it's been a busy few months for me so maybe with spring/summer here life is just getting in the way due to people being more active.

I am going to work on contacting partners who have not been heard from tonight. I have been trying very hard to make sure that no one is left out. I never got a Boxing Day Package, so I know how it is, and I don't want that to happen to anyone this time around. Will let everyone know what I find out.

You did not and you had every right to say something. Things like this need to be discussed or the problem can never be solved. I for one am glad that you brought it to everyone's attention.

I also got a book in a priority mail envelope from 1stChoiceUsedBooks.Com. I'm afraid to open it in case it's from my May Day partner. :shrug:
