Title: voodoo baby

Have you heard of them before?

I saw them at a convention today and kind of remember reading about them being very popular. They are super cute. Though it's kind of pricy for a little ball of strings, I ended up getting one, and regret not buying more...

Just curious if anybody knows of them or are collecting them...

BTW I don't want to sound like their sales rep but here's their site: http://www.vdbaby.com/
(PS they have a few that looks like good avatars!)

Those are great. I've got it bookmarked so that I can go back this afternoon to check it out and purchase one.

a friend of mine has a mini devil doll of theirs hanging from his rear veiw mirror with a little compass attached to it.

They're cute, but the crafter in me cringes at the cost. I just look at them and think "I could make that for so much less!"

Of course, I'd have to spend hours on end figuring out how and I'd go through several failed attempts before I got it right, so it really would be cheaper to buy it.

Honestly my friend's and my first reaction was, that's highway robbery!! And they didn't even bother to claim that your money is helping some poor farmers somewhere in Thailand so at least you feel good about being a sucker.

But I know for me, I would go to Michael's, spent at least that much in material, started on it and left the unfinished voodoos in the drawer for eternity.

Oh, I would too, absolutely.

It's only after I had spent the money and stopped and started several times and had quite a few failed attempts that I would be able to make it for less.

And since I think they're cute but not THAT cute that they're worth even more than they're charging and all that effort... I'd buy one if I ever got one.
