Those of you who've been around for a long time remember when I used to live at this place (or where it used to be, but this is so much better). Well, when I left, I decided to put all the time and energy I'd put here into a blog. I started it (just over a year ago, actually) with the intent of building an audience for my books.

Here it is a year later and I'm having an absolute ball with my blog. I've found that my readers (many of whom are you guys, true) keep me on my toes, envisioning new things, new characters, new scenes. And even a new plot idea for a book. I really wish more of you were hanging out there with me/us. Please, consider yourselves invited and come play.

While I'd say the blog's successful, it doesn't have the readership I'd hoped for. Yet. I'm getting there: I was given a Thinking Blogger Award, I've been asked to submit material for carnivals and contests, I was even nominated for a Preditors and Editors award, which was no small honor. But now is the big one:

I've been nominated for a Bloggers Choice Award.

I'm hoping you'll all go vote for me -- I know, it's one of those icky sites that makes you register -- and help me at least get onto the first page, so more people can see me. After all, the more people who stand up and make a fuss over me, the better my chances of being noticed by an agent or publisher. While that's still a highly unlikely thing to have happen, at this point, I'm thinking it's the only way it'll happen (unless I self-publish, which has its own pretty major pitfalls).

And if I win this thing, who knows. Maybe there will be prizes for random voters.

OK, I have no idea under which category my first vote was placed, but I seem to have successfully voted for WoM 3 times!

How I did this:
1. From the page you reach via the link.
2 & 3. Also on that page, there is a list of info about the blog that includes other things it's been nominated for, just to the right of the "votes" box (that currently says "total votes 16." So where it says "This blog has also been nominated for Best Blog design and Best Blog of All Time", you can click those two things and get to a new vote for WoM page and vote for each of those too!

I didn't put my full name on the info and even put the nickname of the town where I live. I also put the wrong birthday in there. So, they really can't track me down.
They didn't have a cow when I didn't put but my last initial in the last name spot.

Okay someone is going to have to walk me through how to do this. I tried to figure it out but I am lost. :shrug:

RSS feeds are on by default in Blogger.

From your Blogger Dashboard (home page), go to the Settings tab, then choose Site Feed. That should be set to Full by default, which will allow the contents of your blog to be pulled into RSS readers like Google Reader. (RSS is simply an Internet transport format, in the same way that HTTP and FTP are.)
