Title: Want to see some wedding stuff?

Breeze - April 13, 2007 12:17 PM (GMT)
Wedding planning is underway, despite some speed bumps (see April YBS thread, page 13).

Here's the dress I'm in love with, but I have to decide between 2 different skirts.
The smooth skirt
Or
The pouffy skirt but in white and silver.

ETA: I'm going with the smooth skirt! The pouffy is just too much for me to walk around in and have fun in!

This is what I like for Bridesmaids, but with knee length skirts (I think??):
Bridesmaids
I really wanted the girls to just pick out something they like, but seems like everyone wants to know what I like!
ETA: I love the black with white trim, because then the little girls can wear white with black trim and they will all look amazing with my white and silver!!

ETA (again): 2 of the girls have decided not to go with those dresses above but instead with these:
One Twin
The Other Twin
And potentials for the other 2 girls:
with silhouette straps
with ribbon under bust

And this is the chapel at Paris Las Vegas that I like:
Chapel
You can even go on a virtual tour of it!!!

As for flowers....
Gerber daisies all the way!!!

whoa huge pic...sorry!

Love your dress Bree!
I'm really torn between the skirts..The smooth one is so elegant, but you don't get many chances to wear a big pouffy skirt do you?

Your getting married in Vegas? Cool! user posted image
I love the Gerber daisies. I love the bridesmaid dresses too.
I don't like the pouffy skirt myself. I like the smooth skirt so much more. I think it would look beautiful on you.

morsecode - April 13, 2007 12:37 PM (GMT)
Personally, I think the smooth skirt would be more flattering on you (though of course I haven't seen you wearing the poofy one)

I love the dress though... though I'd want it in the gorgeous pink!

I'm happy that your plans are progressing so nicely and I hope that you don't have too much drama

*hugs*

cheesygiraffe - April 13, 2007 12:39 PM (GMT)
Oh, oh I forgot to ask when the date of the wedding is? :D

karendawn - April 13, 2007 01:34 PM (GMT)
Pretty!

Another vote for the smooth skirt.

lizziwhizz - April 13, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
Beautiful, breeze! I also vote for the smooth skirt; the bodice is sooooo lovely, the poofy skirt would detract from it.

smoooooth <drops in ballot>

chambejd - April 13, 2007 02:03 PM (GMT)
I also love the smooth one. It is really beautiful. The daisies are a great choice, too. :flowers:

alsgal - April 13, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
I have to go with the smooth skirt too

corry000 - April 13, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
I'm probably the only one that loves the puffy one. It's so dramatic! I wish I could see the picture os it in white and silver.

:ditto:

Wow...I love the chapel.

Ri - April 13, 2007 02:17 PM (GMT)
I am torn between the smooth (classic looking) and the pouffy one (much more dramatic and exciting). I think that if I could see the pouffy one in white and silver that would probably sway my choice toward the pouffy one. Of course, what really matters is what you feel best in. I think I am leaning more toward the pouffy one though because you will stand out from the bridesmaids a bit more as well.

cheesygiraffe - April 13, 2007 02:18 PM (GMT)
You have a very good point Ri. The pouffy skirt would make her stand out more. I would love to see it in the white and silver.

camis - April 13, 2007 02:39 PM (GMT)
Personally I prefer the smooth, but as Ri says, the pouffy one will stand out more. I think you need to try both on and see how you feel in them.

And I love Gerbers - so pretty.

apolonia - April 13, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
Voting for the pouffy one, although I wish the had a picture in the silver in white too.

dancing-dog - April 13, 2007 02:57 PM (GMT)
I love the smooth skirt - very elegant and graceful.

And love the chapel - wow, very fairy tale like.

HoserLauren - April 13, 2007 03:09 PM (GMT)
I vote for the skirt with the detailing at the bottom that you showed me last week

Just to stir the pot a bit. :P

wss4 - April 13, 2007 04:01 PM (GMT)
I would say the smooth skirt as well, especially considering the bridesmaids dresses. I can imagine how beautiful it is all going to be. The Chapel is lovely. So exciting!

ACK! No! Don't make it any worse!

I've given up on that one, because I didn't like the little gathering thing-y at the bottom and I love love love the top of this dress.

I'm leaning towards the smooth skirt, althought I haven't tried it on yet....they only had the pouffy skirt at the store my Mom and I went too, which I why I'm going out again this weekend! I found a store in Markham that has the smooth skirt, so I'll give that a try....

Now all I need is to plan a reception!!!!

BTW, the date is not set yet, but will be March 10th or 11th, 2008 (yes, Monday or Tuesday - its Vegas baby!) I think my ticker is set for the Tuesday....

Danesnboxers - April 13, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
Absolutely beautiful and I like the smooth skirt too.

caseyw - April 13, 2007 06:50 PM (GMT)
My vote goes with the smooth skirt too. Beautiful dress.

redhot-brat - April 13, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
Gorgeous ... all of it. Definately has the look of being a fairytale wedding come to life. Congrats by the way. :waves:

I'm gonna have to cast my vote for the smooth skirt too. It's just such a smooth and classy style of elegant. It'll go well with the classic, but simple beauty of the daisies too.

Though as other's have already said ... it's your day. Who cares what we think :giggle: Wear what feels right and makes you happy. Your the bride, you'll be beautiful no matter what. :D

BTW ... March is a good month for weddings. Your just a few days off from our wedding/anniversary date. Ours is the 16th.

AceofHearts - April 13, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
I can see what a dilemma you have. I like both skirts. I LOVE the top. Things are really coming together already :)

I agree, March is a great month for weddings. DH and I celebrated 5 years on March 9th

Thanks for all the votes!!! I'll let you know how the trying-on goes tomorrow! We will also be looking for the Bridesmaid dresses for the bridesmaids-who-don't-want-to-be-there (aka Matt's sisters)! Wish me luck!

noumena12 - April 14, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
My first thought was the smooth skirt also...but I think the poofy one is more fun and more gerber daisy-ish! And Bree, I think you are just plain FUN! :)

PepperVL - April 14, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
Poofy!!!

Kyrissaean - April 14, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
Smooth! The pouffy one is dramatic, but all you see is the skirt. With the smooth one, you see an elegant woman shown off by elegant dress. (At least on the models, anyway.)

But seeing them on you could make all the difference.

CheriePie - April 14, 2007 03:48 AM (GMT)
Another vote for the smooth skirt. To me, the poofy one is too much, and detracts from the beautiful bride herself. :D

SciFisstrs - April 14, 2007 06:13 AM (GMT)
My vote would be the smooth skirt. bridesmaid dresses are nice. Love the flowers and chapel is cute.

cowgirl-up - April 14, 2007 12:44 PM (GMT)
I know I'm in the minority, but I LOVE the poofy skirt. That said I'm a sucker for the poofy skirts. :D The top is very dramatic and very beautiful, but I don't think the skirt would detract.

The chapel is also very pretty and a great choice with the gerber daisies. Your bridesmaids dresses look like a style that could be very flattering for a lot of different people.

Good luck with the rest of the plans. Can't wait to see more pics!

LOL I'm a sucker for a pouffy skirt too!!! I love them when I see them on other people, but I just don't think I'll be comfortable hauling that thing around all day!

HoserLauren - April 14, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
I'm sure you'll look great in either.

I'd probably pick the plain one but that's only because I like things simple :)

Breeze - April 14, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
I'm going with the smooth skirt!!! I love it on...its sleek and elegant and looks great!

The bridesmaid dresses weren't as easy to decide, but it looks like we're not going to go with what I posted in my first post, but with a one piece dress....that is at least for the twins, we'll see what the other girls like....

I'll keep you guys posted!

HoserLauren - April 14, 2007 11:12 PM (GMT)
Yay!! :bananadance:
