Title: Something Pretty

ctgmom - April 12, 2007 01:01 PM (GMT)
These pics were taken last night. I don't think I have ever seen such a gorgeous rainbow. It was a complete arc and very bright. At times there was a double rainbow. This was something that we really needed after receiving some bad news about my husband's grandmother.

My husband Grandma has blood clots in both lungs. Her outlook is not good. But the rainbow really helped make things a little better. She is 90 and has told us she is ready to go. It's just hard seeing her so helpless right now. Since is just the most wonderful woman in the world and has always treated me like a granddaughter that was born into her family instead of married into it. Thanks for all the good thoughts. They are really appreciated.

My kids have been very lucky to have known their great grandparents. My two oldest new all 4 great grandmothers and my daughter knows 3. I had a close relationship with my great grandfather so this means so much to me for them to be able to know and be old enough to remember them.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pics. It was a VERY beautiful rainbow. I sent the pics to one of the local channels and the meterologist was going to try and get them on the air. Of course, I forgot to watch so I don't know if they made it or not.

Thanks so much for sharing the pictures!

Your explanation about what's going on sounds difficult, but good too. When my grandfather died, a Nigerian friend told me, "Oh, when a grandfather dies in Nigeria we have a party!" Then she explained that when someone dies after a full productive life, with grandchildren who love them, you can rejoice over their life - it's a different situation than someone whose life is cut short.

Still, I know it's hard. I'm glad that rainbow was there for you. :)
