I know many of you have traded in the past with Kim, or know her from when she was around the old bookrelay forums. Also, many of you have noticed her disappearance from all things BookCrossing in the last year.

Kim has her own medical issues, but in the last few months she's not only been dealing with that, but also with her mom's illness. Her mom had cancer, and although she's been quite the fighter for a long time (Kim called her Pollyanna, because of her chipper outlook) these last few months were extremely difficult.

Kim's mom died Wednesday night. She was 60 years old.

I visited Kim a year ago, and had the opportunity to meet and chat with her mom. Beth truly was a wonderful woman and I feel blessed that I had the opportunity to meet and get to know her.

I don't feel comfortable giving out Kim's address, but if anyone wishes to send her any notes of sympathy or cards, you can send them in care of me and I will make sure she receives them.

I hope you all don't mind me posting this. I just know we have such a caring community, and I remember that some of you had asked me about Kim in the past.
