Title: Release Photos
JessicaEby - March 25, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
Who takes photos of their releases? I do sometimes, when I can. I will probably do it more often as I now have a little "kid's cam" that I can tuck away and keep in my purse to use at anytime for just this sort of thing. My release pics aren't always the best quality, but I have fun doing them and I just made a photobucket album of them!
Jessica's Book Release PhotosDoes anyone else here do this sort of thing?

Wow, how fun! I watched the whole thing as a slideshow.
I am far too lazy to do that though. I am the laziest photo person around. lol

I've taken some in the past, but haven't recently. I really should. It is much more fun and encourages me to have more creative releases!
Your pics are very fun, JessicaEby!

I've done a release pic here and there in the past. So rarely do I wild release these days...and don't really want to carry my camera with me all the time. My phone takes crap pics.

I sometimes take photos if I'm doing a release challenge, but they're never very exciting!

thanks guys... if any of you have/take release photos, feel free to post links if you're so inclined... ;-)

Ooo, thanks for this thread! I tried writing a bookcrossing article urging people to take pictures of their wild releases, but that was over 6 months ago and I've never heard anything. I guess they didn't like it.
And I've gotten out of the habit of it recently. But here are five I liked:
on a harbour park benchunder the railroad tracksamongst the Coca-Cola bottlesat the top of a lookout towerand
this one, which wasn't such a great photo, but inspired the finder to add a picture too!
I looked at yours and I love the shadow on the Kidnapped one! And propping up on the gumball machine looks appealing - I'd take that book!

Thanks for the comments, and thanks for sharing your pics, Potok! I enjoyed them very much :) Someone journaled one of the books that was left on the vending machines, but I haven't heard from the other one yet.
I added 3 new pics to my little album. The book is quite hard to see in one of them, but it's there! One is Treasure Island on a chair at Mr. Sub with some entry forms for an island getaway contest going on in the restaurant, one is Wee Willie Winkie on a baby changing station in the women's washroom of a restaurant, and one (the one in which the book is hard to see) is The Wind in the Willows on the condiment/newspaper counter at an A&W Restaurant. I just  wild releases and their photos.

Is anyone having trouble uploading their pics to BC? I took one on Tuesday (it might be my favourite so far, I can't decide, but it's in the CN Tower observation deck, so you can see the book and some of the view from 1136 feet up!) and I put it in my photobucket album but I can't get it into the book's journal!

What a great idea. I stopped doing wild releases when none of them got journalized but you just inspired me to start again, with my camera in toe.
Your pictures are great!
